Dear ISC,
Our student athletes continued building their impressive resume
this past week by taking home two more championship trophies.
Congratulations to our Lady Sharks’ varsity volleyball and soccer
teams on their recent victories! The soccer team defeated KAP
yesterday on penalty kicks for the island championship and our
volleyball team, representing the island of Curaçao, handedly de-
feated visiting teams from Aruba, St. Maarten, and Bonaire over
the weekend during the Inter-Insulaire Games.
Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff who came out to
show their support!
This Saturday evening we will host our annual talent show in the
gymnasium. If you have not yet purchased your tickets, please
stop by the main office. Tickets will also be sold at the door the
night of the event.
Thank you to the PTA for organizing a fun family day for parents
and children. Some pictures of Saturday’s event are posted on
page 5. The afternoon was relaxing and the children enjoyed
playing games with their friends.
One final note– last week’s Animal Awareness activities can be
viewed in an Animoto video posted on page 5. Simply click on
the image. Friday’s assembly was a hit with the students and ISC
was able to donate pet food and raised a good portion of money to
keep the shelter going.
Sincerely,
Douglas Vaughan

Last week, high school students were able to build a personal computer during their IT class.
Students learned how computers are put together and operate by assembling, configuring and reinstalling some old, but
still operational workstations. This experience connects to various curriculum content areas, with activities that involve
science, math, technology, engineering and design.
On a higher level, our senior student Andre, was installing a server and getting familiar with RAID controllers, Win-
dows Server and Virtualization. He was able to create two virtual machines that will be added to our network in the
future as backup servers.

Elementary News: Blenchi School Visits ISC
This past week our 5th grade classes wel-
comed students and teachers from Blenchi
school. They joined our students during
art class with Ms. Nathalie. They also
spent some time in the playground, in the
library, and even had a snack.
Our 5th graders took part in a Read-A-
Thon through the entire month of Novem-
ber that collected a total of 2,500 guilders.
These funds were used to purchase art
materials for their school.
Thanks to Ms. Goumana for organizing
such a wonderful, collaborative event, Ms.
Nathalie, Ms. Ruth and Ms. Tania for their
support, and all teachers and students who
showed support and to the 5th grade stu-
dents for showing what it means to be

Congratulations to recently certified SCUBA divers Nakhari Alberto,
Anthony Glas, Boy Bongers, Kartik Aggarwal and Lorenzo Sasso.
On Sunday, March 13th these divers joined Eric Jager, Ms. Cook, Mr.
Simonetti and diving instructor Pol Bosch to work on the Coral Resto-
ration Project at Ocean Encounters. They spent over an hour underwater
and successfully cleaned the entire elk horn coral nursery. In April we
hope to have more certified ISC divers join us to clean the second nurs-
ery of stag horn corals.
High School students ... are you interested in becoming SCUBA certi-
fied?
Three certification sessions will be held during the upcoming school
break.
