FALLing

Name: ______________________
October
October’s the month
When the smallest breeze
Gives us a shower
Of autumn leaves.
Bonfires and pumpkins,
Leaves sailing down.
October is red,
Golden and brown.
Fall Is Here
Fall is here.
Another year is coming to an end.
Summer’s finished, summer’s gone,
Winter’s round the bend.
Fall is piles of crunchy leaves,
Orange, gold and red.
Fall is sweaters with long sleeves
And blankets on the bed.
Fall is football.
Fall is pumpkins.
Fall is coming back to school
And seeing all my friends.
I Like Leaves
Green leaves, brown leaves
Red leaves too.
I like colorful leaves.
How about you?
Orange leaves, yellow leaves.
Purple leaves too.
I like fall leaves.
How about you?
APPLE (sung to the tune of BINGO)
I know a fruit that grows on trees
An apple is its name, oh!
* * * * A-P-P-L-E * * * *
A-P-P-L-E A-P-P-L-E
An apple is its name, oh!
In summer and in early fall
It’s time to pick an apple!
* * * *
It may be sweet or may be tart.
It’s red or green or yellow.
* * * *
A Macintosh or Granny Smith
A Winesap or Delicious
* * * *
Make applesauce or apple juice
Or apple pie with apples!
Fall
When the leaves are on the ground
Instead of in the trees,
I like to make a pile of them
Way up to my knees.
I like to run and jump in them
And kick them all around.
I like the prickly feel of them
And the crickly crackly sound.
Apples by Helen Moore
Apples, apples what a treat,
Sweet and tart and good to eat.
Apples green and apples red,
Hang from branches overhead.
When they ripen,
Down they drop
So we can taste our apple crop!
Leaves
Leaves are on the pumpkin.
Leaves are on the tree.
Leaves are on the house.
Leaves are on me.
Leaves are on the ground.
Leaves are on the street.
Leaves are on the car.
Leaves are on my feet.
Leaves are on the wagon.
Leaves are on the bear.
Leaves are on the dog.
Leaves are everywhere.
Flutter, Flutter Little Bat
by Leanne Guenther
Flutter, flutter little bat
How I wonder where you’re at.
Swooping through the darkest night
You find your way without a light.
Flutter, flutter little bat
How I wonder where you’re at!
Amazing Bats
Amazing bats like to eat
Thousands of bugs for a tasty treat.
Flying through the moonlit air
Traveling here and traveling there.
Hibernating when the weather's cold,
Gathered with hundreds of friends, I'm told.
Many bats are endangered, I'm sad to say
There are fewer and fewer bats every day.
Be kind to bats, that's the thing to do
Tell your friends and your family too!
Halloween
Pumpkins
Pumpkins large, pumpkins small,
Pumpkins short, pumpkins tall,
Pumpkins orange, pumpkins green,
All for us on Halloween.
Jack-o-Lantern
Jack-o-lantern, big and scary
Some are sad, some are merry.
Some are large, some are small.
Some just have no teeth at all!
5 Little
Pumpkins
Five little pumpkins were sitting on a gate
The first one said, "Oh, my! It’s getting late!"
The second one said, "There are witches in the air!"
The third one said, "But we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run, let's run!"
The fifth one said, "It’s only Halloween fun."
Then whoooo went the wind and out went the light.
The five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
My Spider
I have a little spider
And I’m very fond of him.
He climbs on to my shoulder
And then up to my chin.
He crawls down my arm
And then down my leg.
Now he’s a tired little spider
So I put him into bed.
Spiders
Spiders are not insects.
Spiders have eight legs.
Spiders have four pairs of eyes.
Spiders hatch from eggs!
Spiders’ webs are sticky.
Spiders weave them tight.
Spiders weave that silky string
To make their webs just right!
Firefighters
Firefighters wear big red hats.
Climb up ladders to rescue cats.
Ride big trucks with big black tires.
Use big hoses to spray fires.
Race when they hear fire alarms
To help keep people safe from harm.
The Up and Down Kitten by Helen Moore
My kitten climbed right up the tree,
But she couldn’t climb back down.
The firemen came to rescue her,
From the other side of town.
One fireman climbed up the tree
And brought that kitten down.
Now, pretty kitten, stay with me,
Stay here on the ground.
I’m A Little Scarecrow
I’m a little scarecrow,
Raggedy and worn.
I wear a hat
And a shirt that’s torn.
When the crows come,
I wave and shout.
“Away from my garden,
Get out! Get out!”
The Frisky Little Squirrel
Oh, the frisky little squirrel
He gathers nuts and seeds.
He hides them for the winter months
So he’ll have all he needs.
Oh, up, up, up he goes
And down, down,
down he comes.
He runs around,
Goes up and down.
His work is never
done.
Wind Tricks
The wind is full of tricks today.
It blew my daddy’s hat away.
It chased our paper down the street.
It almost blew us off our feet!
It makes the trees and bushes dance.
Just listen to it howl and prance.
The Playful Wind
The wind came out to play one day.
He swept the clouds out of his way.
He blew the leaves
And away they flew.
The trees bent low
And their branches did too!
The wind blew the great big ships at sea.
The wind blew the kite away from me.
