• A stands for Allah, Muslims believed that there was only one God.

• B stands for Billal, one of the companion of the prophet. He was the first black to convert to Islam.

• C stands for Caliph, it is a Muslim ruler. Someone who can take the place after Muhammad.

• D stands for Dawah, it is the missionary work for Islam. It is also an invitation to convert to Islam.

• E stands for Eid el fita, it is the three days holiday that makes up the end of Ramadan.

• F stands for Farj, it is the prayer before sunrise.

• G stands for Gazhi, it is a Muslim soldier. A man who fights against infidels. There is still modern Ghazis.

• H stands for Hajj, a pelgrimage to the city of Mecca. One of the five pillars of Islam. Every Muslims has to go there at least once in there life.

• I stands for Imam, a religious and political figure of Islam. He is allowed to pray to the front row. He is also the person who calls all Muslims for whorship.

• J Stands for Jihad, it means struggle in English. Muslims tought that if you die in war, you deserve you place in Paradise.

• K stands for Ka’ba, a small shrine in the middle of the Mosque in Mecca. Muslims face the Ka’ba during prayers.

• L stands for Laylat ul-qadr, the day when Muhammad revealed the Qu’ran to Muslims. In English it means the night of power.

• M stands for Mecca, it is a holy city of the Islamic religion. Also the birthplace of Muhammad. Every Muslims have to go there at least once in there life.

• N stands for Niqab, it is a clothe that Muslims women wear every day, because in the Islam religion a women’s face is very personal. They can only take it off in front of family members.

• O stands for Oasis, it is small area in the desert where water can be found. Many muslims traveling in the desert where stoping by there to get some water.

• P stands for prophet, it is a person regarded as a proclaimer of the will of God.

• Q stands for Qu’ran, it is the Islamic sacred book to be the words of God. They believe that is the word dictated to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel. And it’s written in Arabic.

• R stands for Ramadan, it is the ninth month pf the Muslim year. I that period there is strict fasting from sunrise to sundown.

• S stands Sunnah, it is the way of life pescribed as nomative for Muslims. On the basics of the teachings and practices of Muhammad and interpretations of the Qu’ran.

• T stands for Tawheed, it is the concept of monotheism. Monotheism is when you believe in only one God.

• U stands for Ulama, it is someone who is rich and famous. Some people refere them to Muslim priests. They were well educated, « ancient nerds ».

• V stands for veil it is, a piece of the material worn by women to protects or conceal their face.

• W stands for worship, it is to show reverence and adoration for divinity.

• X stands for Xi’an, trough trade Islamic ideas were introduced to China. This is another reason why trade was important.

• Z stands for Zakat, it is one of the five pillars of faith. It means Charity. Muslims share 2.5% of their wealthy to poor people.
