→This Center of Employment covers job opportunities in two municipalities of the Algarve: Loulé and Albufeira.
→It is also a centre for training and coaching certification.
Number of unemployed people that seek this Job CenterThere are about 800 unemployed per week.
Hotels and civil construction are facing a crisis, most people who were employed in these sectors are unemployed and so unemployment has raised 15% up!
In the Algarve there are 33 thousand unemployed people! However, 1.238 are immigrants ( Ukrainian and Brazilian) that represent 12% of the unemployed population of the Algarve.
Recently some people from Moldavia and Pakistan have also joined to the list of unemployment.
There are more full-time jobs but in the past years part-time offers increased significantly.
Jobs in the following areas:- Trade ( shop assistants, cashiers, section
managers);- Hotel ( housekeepers, maintenance
technicians, kitchen assistants, butlers);- Restaurant ( waiters, bartenders); - Civil Construction (electricians, bricklayers );- Gardening ( gardeners, garden
maintenance).

Required Documents (if you are an immigrant)
All foreigners that have permit to work abroad must register at the Job Center;
The registered immigrants have some benefits such as: - support to find a host;- customer assistance;- information about the job market, job offers, social benefits;- technical support if they are unemployed or even employed.
ConclusionIf you are an immigrant looking for a job in
the Algarve,…- you must speak English; - you will find job offers mainly in the
tourism area ( hotels, restaurants or gardening) and civil construction;
- you will need basic computer skills ( Word / Excel);
- you should register at the nearest Job Center.
