Greetings,The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus theme is Patriotism. Let’s allstop for a moment and thank God this 4th of July for our freedom andindependence.The Knights have been very busy in the community with the Smokin-in-Steele which was a huge success again this year. The weather was verycooperative and not raining especially at its usual time at the awardsceremony. Thanks to all those who helped make this event possible andwe look forward to next year.The Honor Guard has been involved with the Memorial Service, SacredHeart Cemetery Mass, and the Flag Day at the Elks. July Assembly Meeting - Owatonna Arts Center

The July Assembly meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at the Owatonna Arts Center.Social hour from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with wine, beer, or soft drinks. Dinner will follow at6:00 p.m. Menu: lettuce salad, roast beef, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans almondine,chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, coffee, & lemonade.Following dinner we will be treated to a presentation and tour by Anne Peterson, MuseumDirector of the Minnesota State Public School Orphanage Museum. This Owatonna attraction islisted on the National Register of Historic Places as a Historic District.Meal is complimentary with a cash bar.Please call in your reservation so we can have an accurate number for the caterer. Members of the Fourth DegreeKnights of Columbus HonorGuard display the nations flags,1775 to present, at the annualFlag Day Ceremony, which washosted Friday, June 14 by theOwatonna Elks Lodge #1395.Also taking part in the ceremonywere trumpeter Amy Bauer, ElksOfficers, the Knights of Columbus3rd Degree Chorus, and theAmerican Legion/VFW HonorGuard. Program highlightsincluded the reading of thewinning Elks Americanism Essay“What makes you proud ofAmerica?” written by LaurenNelson. A free dinner for Veteranspreceded this annual event.

new regalia will be Sunday, June 30th, at the 10 a.m. Mass at St JosephsChurch. The old regalia will be part of our historic past. Plans are todonate one set to the Steele County Historical Society.Our July meeting will not be held at our regular venue at the hall withtacos, rather it will be at the Steele County Art Center. An invitation willbe sent separately with details. Watch your mail. A special thanks to TimRice for spearheading this event. The August 28th meeting will be heldat Jaycee Park. The menu has not been set but it promises to be good.Summer is here which brings a lot of summer activities. Be safe in all youdo and enjoy.

July 1st starts a new fraternal year. Our goal is to achieve Star Council.To achieve Star Council we need to have 35 new members. StarCouncil is the highest award that a Council can achieve from Supreme.We are planning to have a First Degree Exemplification on July 8 at theKC Hall in Owatonna. If your son or grandson is home for thesummer, please invite him to join the Knights of Columbus.
