- Read through all of the instructions before beginning.- All of the seam allowances are 1/4” unless otherwise noted.- Press seam allowances open unless otherwise noted. - Width of fabric (WOF) is equal to at least 43” wide.- Right sides together has been abbreviated to RST.- Remember to measure twice and cut once!

From Fabric A, fussy cut:one 20-1/2” x 36-3/4” center panel

From Fabric B, cut:one 8” x WOF strip. Subcut: four 8” squaresthree 4-3/4” x WOF strips. Subcut: eighteen 4-3/4” squares for the HSTssix 2-1/2” x WOF strips. Sew together, end-to-end, then trim to yield: two 2-1/2” x 45-1/2” top/bottom middle borders two 2-1/2” x 64-1/2” side middle bordersthree 1-3/4” x WOF strips. Trim to yield: one 1-3/4” x 20-1/2” top inner border two 1-3/4” x 38” side inner borderstwenty-five 1-3/4” x WOF strips. Subcut: forty 1-3/4” squares for the pieced blocks sixty 1-3/4” x 3” rectangles for the pieced blocks sixty 1-3/4” x 4-1/4” rectangles for the pieced blocks forty 1-3/4” x 5-1/2” rectangles for the pieced blocks twenty 1-3/4” x 6-3/4” rectangles for the pieced blocks

From Fabric C, cut:one 4-3/4” x WOF strip. Subcut: nine 4-3/4” squares for the HSTs

From Fabric D, cut:one 4-3/4” x WOF strip. Subcut: nine 4-3/4” squares for the HSTs

From Fabric E, cut:six 4-1/4” x WOF strips. Sew together, end-to-end, then trim to yield: two 4-1/4” x 49-1/2” top/bottom outer borders two 4-1/4” x 71” side outer borders

From each of Fabrics F-Q, cut:one 1-3/4” x WOF strip. Subcut: ten 1-3/4” squares for the pieced blocks

From the Binding Fabric, cut:seven 2-1/2” x WOF strips

Step 1: Sew the Fabric B top inner border to the top edge of the Fabric A center panel. Press toward the border. (There will not be a bottom inner border) Sew the Fabric B side inner borders to the left and right edges of the Fabric A center panel. Press toward the borders.

Assemble the Quilt Center

Step 2: Pair a 4-3/4” Fabric B square with a Fabric C square, RST. Mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of one square. Sew 1/4” away from both sides of the marked line. Cut on the marked line, creating two half-square triangles (HSTs). Press toward the darker fabric. Trim to 4-1/4” square. Repeat to make eighteen B/C HSTs.

Assemble the Half-Square Triangles (HSTs)

Step 3: Repeat Step 2 to make eighteen B/D HSTs.

Step 4: Arrange two B/C and two B/D HSTs in two rows of two, as shown. Sew the HSTs together to form rows, pressing toward the B/C units. Sew the rows together to form an 8” block. Press the row seam open or to one side. Repeat to make nine blocks.

Step 5: Sew three blocks together, as shown, to form the top HST row. Note the fabric placement and block orientation. Press and set aside.

Step 6: Sew six blocks together, as shown, to form the right edge HST column. Note the fabric placement and block orientation. Press and set aside.

Step 7: Gather: two 1-3/4” Fabric B squares three 1-3/4” x 3” Fabric B rectangles three 1-3/4” x 4-1/4” Fabric B rectangles two 1-3/4” x 5-1/2” Fabric B rectangles one 1-3/4” x 6-3/4” Fabric B rectangle six 1-3/4” squares of assorted colors, selected from Fabrics F-Q

Arrange as shown.

Step 8: Sew the pieces together to form six columns. Press the seams toward the colorful F-Q squares.

Step 9: Sew the columns together to form the pieced block. Press the seams open or to one side. The block will measure 8” square. Repeat Steps 7-9 to make a total of twenty pieced blocks.

Step 10: Sew six pieced blocks together to form a side pieced block border, as shown. Note the fabric placement and block orientation. Press and set aside. Repeat to make a second side border.

Step 11: Sew four pieced blocks together to form the top pieced block border, as shown. Note the fabric placement and block orientation. Press and set aside. Repeat to make a the bottom pieced block border.

Step 12: Sew the top HST row to the top edge of the quilt. Press toward the quilt center. Sew the side HST column to the right edge of the quilt. Press toward the quilt center.

Step 13: Sew an 8” Fabric B square to the left and right edges of a completed Step 11 unit. Press toward the squares. Repeat to make a second row like this.

Step 14: Sew a completed Step 10 unit to the left and right edges of the quilt, noting the orientation of the columns. Press toward the quilt center.

Step 15: Sew a completed Step 13 unit to the top and bottom edges of the quilt. Press away from the quilt center.

Step 16: Sew the Fabric B top and bottom middle borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the Fabric B side middle borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders.

Step 17: Sew the Fabric E top and bottom outer borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the Fabric E side outer borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders.

Your quilt top is complete. Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy!
