In Buganda it is a material traditionally used for burial.I did some paintings and took them to Kasubi tombs (a burial place for the Buganda kings).I got a very good response from the manager my work started selling and that is when I started earning a living from my art. This helped me to support my family then.

Batiks

I do lots of batiks for commercial sell and I also get commissions to do some in big numbers.

Training of young artists

This is another area where my great vision lies. I always feel that I do not loose anything by helping to develop the skills of a talented person. I have so far trained four artists who are currently basing their survival on art.

THE DIRECTORATE OF WATER DEVELOPEMNT (DWD) PROJECT

This is a directorate that is mandated with provision of safe water, hygiene and sanitation promotion activities in rural and urban towns in Uganda. This project involved; updating all participatory (PHAST) tools used by the directorate for promotion of safe water, hygiene, sanitation, community participation, operation and maintenance of facilities in all its programmes in Uganda. The materials updated included; those for rural water and sanitation, urban water and sanitation and those for pastoral communities.

THE WaterAid Uganda URBAN PROJECT

Carrier guidance and counseling

This is also another area I am planning to strengthen in my carrier. Currently in Uganda, art is being looked at as a very inferior profession. I also confi rmed these during the art project I carried out with Hillary in Tororo. I also discovered that there is a lot of untapped talent among children which needs to be developed.I am therefore looking forward to visiting schools to promote and encourage children to take art. I also want to live by example that one can achieve anything in this world through art.
