Single mum of three Justine Pursglove has transformed her life and her look with a

sensational makeover at Saks hair salon in Whalley.

Having recently divorced, moved house and started a univeristy degree, and with her 40th birthday just around the corner, Justine’s life had been completely transformed over the past year and she was desperate for a fresh look to go with her new lifestyle.

A long term customer of Whalley’s Saks salon, Justine knew that owner, Cass Preston, and her team of experienced, award-winning stylists would be able to expertly advise and execute a fashionable style and colour that would not only suit her, but would also make her stand out from the crowd.

“I had become known as the mum with the very long hair and had sported a dark colour for over 10 years, which although suited my skin tone, was starting to make me feel slightly dowdy. With all the changes in my life and my kids now all at school, I also felt that it was time to concentrate on myself a little more,” said Justine.

Justine’s day of pampering began with a restyle with principle stylist, Sinead Stitt, who has been at the Saks salon for

two-and-a-half years and is well known for her excellent cutting skills.

In keeping with the sleek, 1970s inspired styles of the spring/summer season, Sinead decided to keep the hair all one length and give it a little more ‘edge’ by cutting around 13

centimetres off the ends to create a well conditioned and clean look.

Next Justine moved to the colour station with Cass. A L’Oreal Colour Specialist Degree holder, Cass chose to use her favourite L’Oreal INOA permanent colour range, which is completely free from ammonia.

A gentle cleanser was used to help remove Justine’s plum tones, a veil of light golden, sandy blonde was applied to the side sections and a light honey chestnut applied to the top to add some brighter tones for the summer months. To give a little more depth to the look, Cass also applied chocolate brown to the underneath back section.

“Justine wanted to turn heads and with these complementary tones, there’s no doubt that she will. INOA colour is so kind to the hair too, so as long as the hair is cared for properly, it will stay vibrant and shiny, even when exposed to the sun and other extreme elements,” said Cass.

Justine was pleased to hear this information as she is due to fly to Florida soon to celebrate her birthday with her parents and children, and she’ll no doubt want to show off her new style.

Cass recommended that she applies Kerastase Soleil UV Protection products to protect her colour from the sun’s rays and Aqua Seal (£18.30) to create a protective film and save her locks from chlorine when swimming.
