Must answer 3 questions
• Is it an educational activity?– Yes
• Is it a form of conventional education?– Yes and no – unique and new field of study
• Is it even possible or contradictory?– No – distance instruction is possible, but not
distance education as it requires intersubjectivity (shared experience b/w learner and teacher)

Reintegration
• Keegan’s central idea is that in distance education, teaching and learning are two separate acts. They must be reintegrated in order for it to work
