SNOW & ICE CONTROLAt The Grounds Guys™ we work with you to create a snow removal and ice management plan tailored to your site, long before the snow flies.

We start by staking curbs, fire hydrants and other haz-ards that might not be evident after a snowfall.

When a storm is expected, we’re on the job 24/7, moni-toring meteorological data, keeping you informed of changes and standing by with the necessary equipment and manpower to handle anything Mother Nature can throw at us.

Our operations center can monitor the location of each snow control vehicle in real time via GPS, so that we are at your site when you need us most.

REduCing CARbon EmissionsThe Grounds Guys™ is committed to monitoring our carbon footprint and to reducing our fossil fuel emissions. We track the emissions from the combustion of both regular and diesel fuels and consciously adjust our activities with reductions in mind. This includes the purchase of hybrid vehicles and machinery as well as the efficient routing of our fleet to reduce fuel consumption. Where possible we can purchase offsetting credits to reduce our carbon footprint.

L.E.E.d. CERTiFiCATions &gREEn buiLdingsL.E.E.D. (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for GREEN BUILDINGS is gaining momentum and acceptance throughout North America. Our clients look to The Grounds Guys™ to help them achieve and maintain L.E.E.D. status. We achieve this by using innovative products and techniques designed to help our customers build and maintain sustainable infrastructure and buildings.

FuEL EFFiCiEnT FLEETs, EQuiPmEnT & bio-diEsELThe Grounds Guys™ uses a GPS tracking system in our vehicles to monitor fuel efficiency, limit idling and eliminate “jack-rabbit” starts. This reduces the impact of our vehicle fleet on the environment.

We have implemented the process of using 100% natural fuels in our larger equipment and vehicles. Look for this innovation to continue.

smART AbouT sALTTo minimize the potential impact to ground water and the environment by over-salting in the winter time, The Grounds Guys™ follows the “Smart about Salt” program. We pre-treat our salt with liquid, organic de-icers that make it work more effectively. We measure dew points, asphalt temperatures and properly calibrate equipment to ensure that the proper amount of salt is applied.

TREE PLAnTing & nATuRAL VEgETATionWe support local tree planting initiatives in our communities. Also, we focus on using native plants and vegetation as much as possible to reduce pest problems and support native animal and bird populations.
