Dear Students:
"I hope the experiences you have had here
will become pleasant memories and stand you in
good stead for what I hope proves to be a most abun-
dant future. Return and visit with us often, you are
always welcome.**
PRESIDENT RAYMOND DOOLEYDear Students:
"The years 1955 and 1956 have been banner
ones for all the Lincoln College family with the
largest enrollment in modern times and prospects of
a new dormitory, as well as continued renovation of
our present buildings, are most hopeful indications
of the progress of Lincoln College.
I want to take this oppormnity to congratulate,
not only the members of the LYNXITE staff but the
students in all college activities who have given so
generously of their time and talents. I sincerely
hope that in years to come you will treasure the mem-ory of college days and that you will faithfully
keep in touch with your alma mater through visits
to the campus and the Alumni Bulletin.
Best wishes to all of you.

YEARS AGO was the first major at
Lincoln College. It was given in
November, 1955, under the direc-
tion of Mr, William Stigall. The
LYNXITE regrets that they do not
have room enough to picture or
name the number of students who
worked so hard behind the scenes.
Years Ago There Was No Snack Bar
The newly opened Snack Bar, which incidentally is a memorial to Jefferson Davis, is quickly
becoming a stop spot between classes. The 24 inch television set is a feature attraction to stu-
dents and faculty alike.

Museum of the Presidents
First permanent exhibit ever created to honor
the thirty-three men who have served this country
as Chief Executive, the Museum of the Presidents
was unveiled during Commencement on May
29, 1955. Pictures cannot show either the beauty
or the importance of the museum. Walnut
paneling and special lighting do full justice to
the materials in the collections. Centered in
the room on a block of Vermont marble are five
flags: those of The United States, the Christian
Church, State of Illinois, the Confederacy and
Lincoln College. Dr. I^alph Newman says "This
is the first time an institution has memorialized
the office rather than the man. All of our Presi-
dents collectively are honored at the first school
named for the sixteenth president of the United
States.

The purpose of the social committee is to prepare the activities for the students throughout the
school year. Bill Swinford is the social committee chairman for this year. By the end of this year
the committee will have accomplished four successful dances, which includes Lincoln's three day
Homecoming Week-end, plus the other miscellaneous events during the year.
Under the supervision of Coach
Siegmund these lettermen, besides
supporting the school's athletic
groups, have sold refreshments at
basketball games. The income
from this project is used to finance
a banquet at the end of the season
for the new members.
