• The Acceptable Use Policies Overview has been established so students, staff, and parents are aware of the responsibility governing the use of technology systems in the Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation.
Shared Responsibility
• Access to computer hardware and software is provided to students and staff for the purpose of enhancing curriculum, instruction, and assessment, as well as promoting the efficiency of school operations.
• The use of the technology services is a privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use may result in cancellation of those privileges.
• Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation reserves the right to inspect and monitor any and all aspects of the technology system at its sole discretion, including files, e-mail, and other electronic transmissions, produced or stored within the system.
Guidelines
• Students are permitted to take the iPads home every day.
• Students must charge their iPads at home. • Charged iPads are to be brought to school every day.
Students will be taught how to properly use and care for their iPad.
• Teachers will continue trainings about how to utilize these new devices.
• Failure to have iPads charged or not at school will result in disciplinary consequences.

student.• All iPads are managed and tracked by the LCSC
Technology Dept.• All iPads are set up to filter internet materials using our
schools’ web filtering equipment.
iPads
iPad rules for students:1. Always be careful carrying your iPad.2. Remember that this iPad can be broken. 3. Always sit down when you are using your iPad.4. iPads are to be kept in your locker during lunch. 5. iPads are not to enter the restrooms. 6. Turn your iPad’s screen off when the teacher is talking.
7. Be gentle when tapping your iPad’s screen.
8. Only use the App or website you have been asked to use.

Students
1. Fully charged iPads should be taken to all classes (except P.E.)
2. iPads should be turned off/face down unless requested to
be on by a teacher (ear buds used only with teacher permission)
3. iPads should not be on during passing periods for any reason
4. No game playing during the school day
5. No sending messages (social networking) during the school day
6. iPads should not be taken to lunch with students
7. iPads should only be stored in the student’s personal locker
that is securely locked

Worth Ave. Group is pleased to offer a discount to members of Lawrenceburg Community School Corp. (Lawrenceburg, IN) to insure school-issued laptops given to students and faculty. Insurance with Worth Ave. Group will protect the device against: Accidental Damage, Theft, Fire, Flood, Natural Disasters, Power Surge and Vandalism. This insurance policy will provide full replacement cost coverage and will protect the item worldwide (on and off school grounds). There is no limit to the number of claims that can be filed during the term of the policy and the policy is transferable to a replacement unit.

Device Repair & Billing
Ticket System
Any damage or lost items to the device need to be reported to the Office or Technology Department Immediately
Students will be given a loaner iPad to not hinder learning time.
Repairs- Techs will evaluate and fix repairs onsite whenever possible.- Insurance Repairs will be sent from the Tech Office on behalf of the student- Non-Insurance Repairs will be fixed in house or sent out to repair if neccessary.
STUDENT DEVICE REPAIR
To more efficiently repair iPads, better monitor inventory, and maintain our technology integrity to continue the advancement of education we will routinely check devices for damage and functionality.
ROUTINE DEVICE CHECKS
If there a cost incurred in repair of a damaged device, it is the technology department’s commitment and legal obligation, to
provide repairs with reliable parts and companies at currentmarket cost.
- LCSC makes no profit from any repairs.
If you opted to not select insurance, repair cost will be communicated through the school office as soon as it is known.

Who is liable for damages?We will offer a third party vendor for insurance (presentation in a little bit) otherwise the user and parents or guardians will agree to accept all liability, loss or damages as a result of claims, demands, attorney’s fees, costs, or
judgments arising out of the user’s violation of these terms and conditions.

What happens if stolen?Parents will pay the FULL replacement cost unless insurance is purchased
Will students be able to download applications?No. All necessary applications will be provided and distributed by the LCSC technology department.
Will students be able to use their own Apple ID?No. Students will be given all of the necessary applications via our device management system.
Frequently Asked Questions
How will students tell one childs iPad from another?Students should familiarize themselves with the five-digit number located on the lock screen of their iPad. Also, students will be allowed to customize their iPad wallpaper with school appropriate backgrounds.
Will students need Internet access at home?No. However, home Internet access will enhance the educational experience for your child.
If they take them home are the chargers also provided?Yes. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure the device is fully charged everyday. There may be an option for charging here at school at a later time.
