Operation ManualProfessional Remote Weather Station
This Operation Manual is part of this product and should be kept in asafe place for future reference. It contains important notes on setup andoperation.
1. Introduction
Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing this Professional Remote Weather Sta
Designed for everyday use, the weather station will prove to asset of great value for your personal use in the home or office.
Please read this instruction manual thoroughly to fully understafeatures and functions so that you can enjoy the safe and coperation of this unique product.
2. Intended Use
This Weather Station receives the weather data such asdirection and velocity, rainfall, air pressure, temperature and hudew point, wind chill from three outdoor sensors. The receiveis displayed on the base stations LCD or it can be uploaded
your PC using the Heavy Weather PC software (Heavy WeatheROM included in this pack).
Base stationThe base station can either use batteries or the AC/DC power adincluded with this pack. For battery operation, the base stationthree type Mignon AA, IEC LR6, 1.5V batteries and is to beindoors within a dry environment only, outdoor use and contac
moisture will damage the unit.
Outdoor sensorsThe thermo-hygro sensor for outdoor use operates on two MAA, IEC LR6, 1.5V batteries. The wind sensor and rain sensoreceives the operating power from the thermo-hygro sensor ththe connected cables. Using batteries has its benefits as the se
can freely be placed outdoors creating less restrictions for widata transmission.

When using the AC/DC power adaptor, constant power is supplied tothe base station and all of the outdoor sensors by connection of acable. Setting up using this AC/DC adaptor has its benefits as all
sensors will transmit to the base station using cable to ensure all datais received without interruption and there is no need to change thebatteries.
Any other use other than the intended use by its design will leadto damage of this product. Do not open or modify this product inany way!

8. Mounting
Base StationThe base Station can be placed on any flat surface or wall mounted atany desired location by means of a hanging hole at the back of theunit.
Important Note!Check that the 433MHz (if using wirelessconnection) and the DCF77 radio controlledtime can be received before permanently
mounting any of the units (drilling of holes,etc.). Should the base station not display any ofthe signals from the desired location relocatethe units. Once the signals are received, thesystem can be affixed permanently.
Also ensure that cable distances can reach alldesired locations before affixing any unit
permanently
Remote Wind Sensor
For best results and accurate readings, the wind sensor shoumounted onto a mast to allow the wind to travel around the sunhindered from all directions (ideal mast size should be16mm 33mm). Due to the design of this product it is impto mount the sensor so that the front (marked E) is pointing in
West direction.
Mounting the wind sensor onto a mastFirstly carefully remove the packaging and protection from thesensor head and check that wind-fan and weather-vane can freely before fixing the unit using the supplied screws. For mounting the wind sensor must be pointing exactly in an Eastdirection in order to provide an exact Eastern reference point
base stations compass otherwise wind direction will be wrepresented.
Prior to mounting lead the cable through the shaft of the wind sOnce the wind sensor is fixed onto the mast, connect the cable thermo-hygro sensor at the corresponding port (see "thermo-illustration below) so that operating power supply can be receivedata can be transmitted to the base station.

Note!Cables of the sensors must be connected tothe corresponding ports of the thermo-hygrosensor to avoid any transmission problems.
Rain SensorThe rain sensor must be securely
mounted onto a horizontal surface about1 meter off the ground and in an openarea away from trees or other coveringswhere rainfall may be reduced causinginaccurate readings.
Before affixing the rain sensor, removethe upper part from the lower by pulling
firmly. Check by tilting the rain sensorfrom side to side that the seesaw tray can move freely as this is therainfall counter. Also check that rain will not be collected and storedat the base of the unit but can flow out between the units base andthe mounting surface (test by pouring clean water). Then replace bothparts of the sensor together again.
For the best remote transmission it is recommended to mount the rain
sensor at a height of approximately 1 meter.
After mounting the rain sensor, connect the cable to the thermo-hygrosensor at the corresponding socket (see "thermo-hygro illustrationbelow) so power supply can be received and data be transmitted tothe base station
The rain sensor is now operable. For testing purposes, very slowly
pour a small amount of clean water into the rain sensor funnel. Thewater will act as rainfall and will be received and displayed in inchesor mm units at the base station. To clear the testing count on the basestation LCD, refer to the section MIN/MAX Mode below
Note! When mounting the rain sensor make sure that the collectedwater can drain out without obstruction.
Thermo-hygro SensorPull the rain protector away from the thermo-hygro sensor. Presslide open the battery cover in a downward direction and inseAA, IEC LR6, 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment andthe cover. Then connect the wind and rain sensor cables corresponding sockets as marked.
Carefully replace the rain cover back on the thermo-hygro sensuring that the cables from the wind and rain sensors are coplugged in.
An ideal mounting place would be the outerwall beneath the extension of the roof as thiswill protect the sensor from direct sunlight andother weather elements.
To wall mount, use the 2 screws to affix thewall holder to the desired wall, plug in thethermo-hygro sensor to the holder and secureboth parts by the use of the supplied screw.

14. Auto memory for stored values
The weather station has a memory back up system (EEPROM),which is used to store user-defined settings for when the batteries arechanged or if a power failure should occur. This feature is performedautomatically each time new values or units are defined by the user. The weather station will memorize the following user settings:
Time zone 12/24h time display mode Unit settings (temperature, pressure, rainfall, wind) Air pressure offset for calculation of relative air pressure Weather picture threshold Storm warning threshold LCD contrast
Alarm time Weather Alarm thresholds State of alarms (enabled/disabled) Rainfall total value and reset time/date
After a change of batteries or a power reset, the above user set datawill be recalled from the memory and restored into the base station.Should you prefer to go back to the factory settings, press and hold
the PRESSURE and WIND keys simultaneously for approximaseconds.Factory default settings:
