CULTURAL EVENTSMARCH-APRIL 2014
AllianceFrançaiseKatmandouAllianceFrançaise
de Katmandou
L’AFK, ce n’est pas que des
cours de français ! C’est aussi un
bistrot, une médiathèque et plein
d’événements culturels : cinéma,
concerts, expos, performances,
théâtre, cirque, ateliers….
Comment ça ! Vous n’étiez pas
au courant ? Vous avez raté
l’unique concert d’Andromakers
en janvier, l’atelier d’illustrations
de Louise de Contes et My French
Film Festival en février ?
Je sais, c’est terrible, c’est affreux
! Ne bougez plus, respirez et
visualisez la brochure culturelle
de l’AFK. Ômmm. Maintenant
passez à l’action et jetez-vous
sur une brochure, mettez-là dans
votre poche, dans votre sac, dans
vos chaussettes et ramenez-là
en lieu sûr. Qui sait ? Dans une
semaine il n’y en aura peut-être
plus…
Ainsi mars flirtera avec la langue
française (voici venu le temps de
la semaine de la Francophonie)
tandis qu’avril se déchainera
avec des performances, des
expositions et des ateliers farfelus
(soirée Art Lab, Saint Molotov et
Lydie Mariller).
Gardez votre calme, bienvenue à
l’AFK !
OPHELIE BELIN / Directrice
AFK it’s not just about French
classes ! It’s also a Bistrot, a
library and a lot of cultural
events : cinema, concerts,
exhibitions, performances,
theater, circus, workshops…
What’s happened ? Didn’t you
know ? Did you miss the unique
concert of Andromakers in
January, the graphic workshop
by Louise de Contes and My
French Film Festival in February ?
I know, it’s terrible, it’s aweful !
Take it easy, relax, breath and
meditate on the AFK’s cultural
events brochure. Ômmm. Now,
move into action, put it in your
pocket, in your bag, in your
socks and keep it safely. Who
knows ? One week later, there
might be no more brochures
available…
So March is gonna flirt with
French language (this is the time
of the week of La Francophonie)
while April will be a month
of performances, exhibitions,
and of unique and uncommon
workshops (Art Lab night, Saint
Molotov and Lydie Mariller…)
Keep calm, welcome to AFK !

"If poetry has always had a close relationship with
the natural and primitive arts such as song, dance
and theater, it is also often the hinterland, the
secret to support the creation point in visual arts,
photography, musical composition, film, short film,
video, and even the circus... We wish to highlight,
thanks to the 16th Spring of Poets, the constant and
fruitful dialogue between poets and their "substantial
allies." Either above or beside, poetry is the heart of
any artistic adventure."
Jean -Pierre Siméon
Artistic director of “Le Printemps des poètes”
On this occasion, the Alliance Française in
Katmandou (AFK) organize writing workshops with
students. One way to learn French language through
poetry via three approaches: thematic, technical and
artistic. Poetry will be displayed in an exhibition in
the Auditorium during the week of the Francophonie.

“Saint Molotov, master of desperate causes, weary of his
relentless fighting and for a question of survival, has chosen
to go into exile on a planet that himself has created: Welcome
to Molotovie!
Sometimes black and white, sometimes colorful, between
dream and reality, this mixed universe of simple happiness,
melancholic poetry and fanatic rebellion cannot leave travel-
ers indifferent. Take the time to put your luggage in this new
land and let immerse yourself in its rites and beliefs ... Bon
voyage!”
Miss Shepa
Life tossed us by winds and tides of the sea of our emotions
... Saint Molotov takes us with him aboard on his skiff on the
ocean of his inner world, where we capsize with happiness to
end up on the other side of the unknown gateways... until the
next storm.

Non students and students - beginners and confirmed - are

practice physical work, and experiment the mute burlesque
register, improvising gags and absurd situations.
Those drama skills will be apprehended with the creation of an
original and common work on the theme of travelling.
Enjoy a drama initiation and have fun together creating an
original performance.
The whole course is only 100 rupees!

Campus France helps students plan and carry out a period of
study in France. It is an agency created by French government and
working in close collaboration with French Foreign Ministry and
Education Ministry. Campus France top priority is welcoming and
giving right information to any student. The Campus France desk
can also help you in every steps of your project: information, advice,
online enrollments, preparation for departure, monitoring till the
return home.
How to choose the right university in France ? What are the steps to
enter a French university? What is the cost of living in France? How
to get a scholarship? To get answers to all these queries and further
details about France, you can visit the Campus France Desk, inside
the Alliance Française Katmandou premises.
Campus France is the only official agency for higher education in
France. You can get free information and counseling.
Be careful with imitations!
If you can find many others counselling agencies about studies in
France, the Campus France desk is the only official office of the
French government. The difference ? We inform you for free and we
work in close collaboration with the French Embassy.
Every student applying for a student visa for France must, for the
preparation of his application, come at the Campus France desk for
an interview. It is no use wasting money with some agencies holding
out the prospect of a visa: nobody in Nepal can guarantee you a
student visa for France.
