Having energy efficient technology is great! But, only if it’s working as intended.
Perform monthly maintenance of heating and cooling equipment to ensure that:
• HVAC filters are changed or cleaned every month during peak cooling or heating season. Dirty filters cost more to use, overwork the equipment, and result in lower indoor air quality.
• Evaporator and condenser coils on heat pumps, air-conditioners, or chillers are being cleaned. Dirty coils inhibit heat transfer; keeping coils clean saves energy.
• Compressed air systems are free of leaks and are set to appropriate pressure levels.

Unplug electronics when you’re away from
work for extended periods of time –
or anytime you’re not actively using them.
Be sure to unplug equipment, computers,
monitors, photocopiers and appliances

unplug appliances like coffee makers
and kettles!
Even better: Use a smart powerbar!
They work to reduce your power usage
by automatically shutting down power
to products that go into standby mode.
Fight phantom electricity.
