• Started in 1892, in a nondescript house in Calcutta (Kolkata) , India
with an initial investment of Rs.295.
• It is observed that Britannia has the highest demand over the other
brands in the market.
• It has better promotional strategies as 70% is contributed by free
gifts and 30% is contributed by combo offers to affect the sales.
• The Company's principal activity is the manufacture and sale of
biscuits, bread, rusk, cakes and dairy products.
Britannia saw the writing on the wall. Its "Swasth Khao Tan
Man Jagao" (Eat Healthy, Think Better) re-position directly
addressed this new trend by promising the new generation
a healthy and nutritious alternative - that was also
delightful and tasty.
Thus, the new logo was born, enclosed the core essence of
Britannia - healthy, nutritious, optimistic - and combining it
with offering variety of products and choice to consumers.
