ceased members of our parish family, especially:
Euftaquio Arriola.
2014 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL
The 2014 Annual Catholic Appeal has begun.
It is not important how much you give, but - that
you give. This helps to widen our collaborative base
as to the number of parishioners who participate and
act responsibly on behalf of the parish in this contri-
bution. The more people participate, the more it be-
comes a demonstration of the viability of Miraculous
Medal as being alive and filled with a sense of par-
ticipation and not isolation..
Our parish goal this year is $50,000. As you
know every time we exceed this goal, the difference
comes back into the parish. In this way, you also
make a contribution to our parish. This helps greatly
since our Sunday collections are not meeting the cost
of the parish bills. Since every little bit helps, I ask
you to consider the appeal.
Envelopes are available in the bookracks to-
day. Please fill out a pledge envelope and return it
with your gift or pledge.
May God continue to bless each of your efforts
to help make this parish great!

Dear Friends in Christ,
The last few weeks have witnessed some spectacular events happening in our parish
which are caught in photo-ops in this Easter issue of our bulletin.
Needless to say, the rituals, ceremonies and liturgies of Holy Week were dramatically and
beautifully celebrated. There are not enough thanks I can express to all those who
worked behind the scenes, helping us to: decorate, prepare music, rehearse liturgies,
serve, direct parishioners and guests, greeters at the door, clean up, etc., etc., etc. Were I
to begin mentioning individuals and leave some name out, I would be truly remiss in
gratitude.
In participation of Holy Week, we had a visit from our Bishop, Nicholas DiMarzio who
inducted the Confirmation candidates with the Rite of Election bringing them closer to
the celebration of the sacrament; then blessed well over 200 young people present in the
sanctuary in preparation for the great event of Passion Week leading to Easter Sunday.
After the Sunday morning liturgy the Bishop them proceeded to our Pope John Paul II
Center and greeted all the parents whose children will receive First Holy Communion
and subsequently met with the parish leaders, i.e., parish council members, trustees and
finance board.
All of this was prepared weeks in advance and therefore many of our core people were
involved in working feverishly in the build-up and culmination of Easter Sunday and
Eastertide.
I know I speak on behalf of: Deacon James Maloney, Deacon Fabio Flaim, Deacon Mar-
cin Chilczuk, Seminarian Mark Bristol, Msgr. Schuster, Fr. Johny and myself, when I
say how grateful we are for the wonderful experience of another successful Lent and
Easter in our parish supported by so many wonderful parishioners who are at the center
of working with us.
Our gratitude to each of our parishioners, who Sunday after Sunday come to celebrate
the core of our faith in the celebration of the Sacred Eucharist and sustain the House of
God call Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish.
To each and every one of you and your families, a most holy, powerful and energizing
Easter Season! ALLELUIA!
