Proposed Post-ProcessingMotivationMC lifted wavelets require update step at encoder.

Skipping update step at decoder gives benefits like lower complexity and lower playout delay.

But skipping this update step at decoder leads to significant quality degradation at high bit-rates.

reconstruction shows spurious artifact proportional to original highband.

Maintains low complexity and low playout delay.Extends to 5/3 wavelet. [Mavlankar et al. VCIP 2007]Mitigates half of the quality degradation.
