Lesson observation
● At least 1 formal lesson observation feedback form completed per week
○ by mentor/host teacher/professional tutor
● Record “what” happens in the lesson and “so what?” ○ impact on pupil progress
● “Points to consider” and “evidence of trainee progress” ○ could focus on one specific aspect/target
Placement 1 - Key Documentation
Weekly mentor meetings
● 1 hour mentoring session per week throughout the placement
○ Discuss evidence of pupil progress and trainee’s progress against previous targets (refer to lesson observation form)
○ Professional discussion and set developmental targets, including subject specific targets
○ Targets should link to some of the “points to consider” from lesson observation form(s)
○ Weekly mentor meeting forms - completed by trainee, signed by mentor
○ Trainees upload to Pebblepad

Trainees would do well to reflect on the lesson taught before the weekly meeting.

What is Pebblepad?
This is a teaching e-Portfolio platform. Pebblepad is where trainees will log evidence of progress throughout the course, interact with school mentors and university staff. All trainees across all subjects will be using Pebblepad.
How will I use Pebblepad?
Mentors will use Pebblepad to access trainee information, check trainee progress, look at/complete reviews, sign off attendance, and access /contribute to any Student Support Plans with University tutors.All reviews from school placements will be submitted on Pebblepad.
