Theword“side”,inGenesis6:16,istsadinHebrewandismadeupoftwoletters.Thetsadeandthedalet.InHebreweachletterhasameaning.DesireTsade= צDoorDalet= דItisimportanttonotethatYHVH’sWordiscalledDabarinHebrew.Door=Daletּדְ House=Betבַ HighMost=ReyshרHisWordistheDoortotheHouseoftheMostHigh.Ourdesireforthisdoorleadsustosalvation.John1:14AndtheWordbecamefleshanddweltamongus,andwebeheldHisglory,thegloryasoftheonlybegottenoftheFather,fullofgraceandtruth.WecanseethattheDooristheWordandtheWordinthefleshistheMessiah.Intheversesbelowtakenotethattheword“side”isthesameHebrewwordinGenesis6:16.Exodus25:32Andsixbranchesshallcomeoutofitssides:threebranchesofthelampstandoutofoneside,andthreebranchesofthelampstandoutoftheotherside.

ThereisafascinatingstudyonhowthiscenterrodrepresentstheMessiahandthisrodlightsalltheotherbranches.Wealsocannotethatthenumber4isconnectedtotheMessiahinitsrepresentationofauthority.Itisalsothe4thpositionintheMenorah.Forthepurposeofthisstudywewillfocusonthefactthatalltheotherbranchescomeoutofthe“side”ofthecenterbranch.WeseethepictureoftheMenorahinNoah’sarkwiththedoorasthecenterbranchandthethreelevelsofthearkoneachside.Deuteronomy31:26TakethisbookoftheLaw(Torah/Word)anyoushallputitinthesideofthearkofthecovenantofYehovahyourGod.Thisversealsousestheword“side”.WecanseethattheWordistobeinthe“side”oftheArkoftheCovenant.Thisisagreatcomparison.InNoah’sarkthedoor,whichrepresentstheWordandMessiah,isplacedinthe“side”oftheark.NowweseetheWordofYHVHistobeplacedinthe“side”oftheArkoftheCovenant.WecanseethepictureofsalvationinNoah’sark,YHVH’sWord,andtheMessiah.ThisWordplacedinthe“side”ofthearkisLife.Deuteronomy32:45MosesfinishedspeakingallthesewordstoallIsrael,46andhesaidtothem:“SetyourheartsonallthewordswhichItestifyamongyoutoday,whichyoushallcommandyourchildrentobecarefultoobserve—allthewordsofthislaw.47Foritisnotafutilethingforyou,becauseitisyourlife,andbythiswordyoushallprolongyourdaysinthelandwhichyoucrossovertheJordantopossess.”John6:63ItistheSpiritwhogiveslife;thefleshprofitsnothing.ThewordsthatIspeaktoyouarespirit,andtheyarelife.Proverbs13:14Thelawofthewiseisafountainoflife,Toturnoneawayfromthesnaresofdeath.

WecanalsoconnectthecrucifixiontotheMessiah’s“side”.Isaiah53:5Andheispiercedforourtransgressions,Bruisedforouriniquities,Thechastisementofourpeace[is]onhim,Andbyhisbruisethereishealingtous.John19:34ButoneofthesoldierspiercedHissidewithaspear,andimmediatelybloodandwatercameout.1John5:8Andtherearethreethatbearwitnessonearth:theSpirit,thewater,andtheblood;andthesethreeagreeasone.Thisversein1JohnconnectssomeimageryoftheMessiahbacktoNoah’sark.Outofhis“side”comesthebloodofHissacrificeandthewaterofHisWord.Witness1ThebloodofHissacrificecanbetiedbacktoNoahaftertheArkrested.Genesis8:20ThenNoahbuiltanaltartotheLord,andtookofeverycleananimalandofeverycleanbird,andofferedburntofferingsonthealtar.Genesis9:4-5Onlyyoushallnoteatfleshwithitslife,thatis,itsblood.5SurelyIwillrequireyourlifeblood;fromeverybeastIwillrequireit.Andfromeveryman,fromeveryman’sbrotherIwillrequirethelifeofman.Wecanseeabovethatthelifeisintheblood.Thewagesofsinisdeathandsurelythelifeofonespecificman,ourMessiahwasrequired.ItisbythelifeofHisbloodthatweareredeemed.Witness2

HisWordisoftencomparedtolifegivingandcleansingorpurifyingwater.Certainlythewaterofthefloodcleansedandpurifiedtheearth,givingnewlifetothosesavedwithintheark.1Peter3:20Whoformerlyweredisobedient,whenoncetheDivinelongsufferingwaitedinthedaysofNoah,whilethearkwasbeingprepared,inwhichafew,thatis,eightsouls,weresavedthroughwater.Witness3WeknowthatscripturetellsusthatwhentheMessiahleaveshewillsendtheHolySpirit.InLuke3wecanseethisSpiritiscomparedtoadove.WeseethisdoveimageryinGenesis8.Luke3:22AndtheHolySpiritdescendedinbodilyformlikeadoveuponHim,andavoicecamefromheavenwhichsaid,“YouareMybelovedSon;inYouIamwellpleased.”Genesis8:11-1211Thenthedovecametohimintheevening,andbehold,afreshlypluckedoliveleafwasinhermouth;andNoahknewthatthewatershadrecededfromtheearth.12Sohewaitedyetanothersevendaysandsentoutthedove,whichdidnotreturnagaintohimanymore.John14:26ButtheHelper,theHolySpirit,whomtheFatherwillsendinMyname,Hewillteachyouallthings,andbringtoyourremembranceallthingsthatIsaidtoyou.CouldtherebeaspiritualsignificancethatNoahsentadove(spirit)outandadove(spirit)returnswiththeMesssiah.John16:7ButItellyouthetruth;itisbetterforyouthatIgoaway,forifImaynotgoaway,theComforter(Spirit)willnotcomeuntoyou,andifIgoon,IwillsendHimuntoyou;
