Module 2-C: The Game of Business
Teaching method:
1. Write “What do you need to start a business?” on the fl ip chart and have the kids call out things they need to start a business. Prompt them on some of the important things they might miss. There’s a list of things on the bottom of page 33 in the playbook.

b) Hire a lawyer to draft the ‘corporation’ papers and issue stock (explain that the public does not own this company, yet. This is referred to privately held stock).
c) Appointing a Board of Directors. Explain that the board helps direct the company, makes critical decisions, etc.

4. ACTIVITY - Get into groups of 4 and using page 58 have kids come up with as many ads as they can for each of the categories. They are allowed to use the same ad in more than one category and are allowed to put more than one ad in each category. Give them about 5-7 minutes, ask for some examples, and then have them count how many each group had. The group with the most gets a prize.
