Some organisations use autoscaling to create new servers in response to load, but many prefer manual control and automated tools that create/destroy servers at certain times or on certain dates according to predicted load.

Websites or applications for in-house use depend on back-end databases, and these can be in Cloud, or in-house. Cloud databases reduce capital expenditure, but can be hard to move to another supplier, or bring back in-house.

It is possible to use business cloud storage for all your data if you profile the provider and are sure they can meet your security requirements. However many organisations, especially in financial services and healthcare, prefer to keep their data on their own premises.
