Today multimedia can be de� ned as the seamless integration of some or all of the following media—text, graphics, animation, audio, and video. Over the last couple of decades, multimedia has evolved from a very expensive, difficult to make product to one that today can be produced on most of our cell phones.
Multimedia is usually recorded and played on a computer or other electronic device, but can also be part of a live performance. As you can tell, multimedia can mean many different things and produces many different kinds of products. You will have an opportunity to learn about and practice many of them.
Multimedia presentations can be live or recorded. A recorded presentation allows interaction using tools such as a mouse. A live multimedia presentation often allows interaction with the presenter or performer.
One thing to remember is that sometimes using less media is better than trying to use everything at once. When planning a multimedia presentation or production, it is important to know what message or information you are trying to get across to your audience. It is then easier to decide what media to use.

• PowerPoint or other presentation software using good presentation techniques

• Create and present a PowerPoint presentation.
• Edit a photograph you took and apply special effects, if desired.
• Create a short video using text, graphics, and video clips you created using the video-editor of your choice.
• Create a Youtube or Animoto video using your own pictures or clips.
• Create and share a computer game using GameMaker or other game-making software.
