Hallal's acadetnic achievements do not stop there. He is being honored with two other awards: the Mewborn Student Research
Academy in June 1959, and was a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School in 1967, earning a master of science degree in aeronautical engineering. His last assignment before assuming duties as CINCP ACFL T was as a Deputy Chief of Naval Operations. (Note: The admiral is also a guest speaker at a Navy League dinner in the ballroom tonight. For tickets call 373-7467.)
NPS will graduate 214 students this quarter, awarding four doctorate degrees, two aeronautical and astronautical engineer degrees, one electrical engineer and two mechanical engineer degrees, 177 master of science degrees and 36 master of arts degrees.

Public law has established a leave bank for civilian employees who performed active duty during the Persian Gulf War. Open season for donations of accrued annual leave runs through July 13. Civilian employees are invited to donate annual leave to the Desert Storm Reservist Leave Bank. Four NPS/tenantcommand civilians are eligible to receive leave through the bank.

Junior tennis clinics Tennis teaching pro Jack Malokas
will offer children's tennis clinics between July 9 and August 15.
Clinics will consist of six 1-hour sessions over two weeks. The focus will be on providing an introduction to the sport in a fun environment.
Cost will be $30 per child. Entry forms are available through the NPS recreation office or at the lighted courts in La Mesa Village.

Golf tourney The Central Pacific Sports Confer
ence Mens and Womens Golf Tournament will be played July 18-21 at the Moffett Field course.
Divisions will be set for open male, seniors (over 40) and women. Seniors over 40 may play in an open division.

Junior golf program The NPS Junior Golf Program
swings into session this month, with sign ups now being taken at the NPS pro shop.
The program is for young golfers between 8 and 17, and integrates teaching for all levels of ability. The program climaxes with a junior/adult shoot-out tournament in August, with food, prizes and trophies.
Golf professionals Gene Newton and Pete Nilles conduct the program.
Classes begin Wednesday, June 19, with regular Wednesday sessions from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Fee for participation is $35.

Summer camp registration Registration continues for the La
Mesa Summer Camp '91. Activities will include swimming,
golf lessons, sporting events, fun and fitness, nature walks, arts and crafts, cooking, movie field trips, plenty of friendship and much more.
Cost is $60 a week per child. Children must be between 5 and 12.
