CentrePort, along with Crystal Developers and Cushman & Wakefield Winnipeg, is excited to announce that shovel-ready, fully serviced land is soon to be available at Brookside Industrial Park.
Water and wastewater servicing will be in place by summer 2018 in the 100-acre development being brought to market by Crystal Developers Ltd. and brokered by Cushman & Wakefield Winnipeg. The park is located in CentrePort North in the Rural Municipality of Rosser, with frontage onto CentrePort Canada Way; just west of Route 90.
The land within the park is zoned I2 for general industrial uses including manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, logistics and transportation-related businesses. Companies that locate within Brookside Industrial Park can also take advantage of the Special Planning Area which streamlines the land-development approval process, allowing businesses to have cost and planning certainty, transparency and speed to market.
“Crystal Developers Ltd. is excited to continue with the high-quality Brookside development project in CentrePort – adding another 100 acres into the portfolio, which brings Brookside Industrial Park to a total of 250 acres of industrial land,” said Heidi Spletzer, vice-president of Crystal Developers. “The area presents a promising future for the attraction of a new cluster of manufacturing companies in a strong leasing and owner-occupied market.”
“There has been a lack of industrial zoned, shovel-ready and serviced land in the Winnipeg marketplace, so this land becoming available at Brookside Industrial Park will provide much needed inventory,” said Stephen Sherlock, associate vice president, Cushman & Wakefield Winnipeg. “With all of the pent up demand, we anticipate this land will sell quickly.”

“The availability of shovel-ready, fully serviced land at CentrePort will result in new investment, jobs and opportunities in Manitoba. The park will be a major draw for com-panies in key sectors like advanced manufacturing, agribusiness and transportation and logistics, “ said Diane Gray, president & CEO, CentrePort Canada. “We look forward to working closely with Cushman & Wakefield Winnipeg and government partners to attract businesses to locate on this site.”

CENTREPORT CANADA LAUNCHES INAUGURAL UNITED WAY STAFF CAMPAIGN
Supporting our community and partners is a priority for CentrePort Canada and we are proud to have launched an internal United Way Winnipeg campaign. CentrePort staff kicked off our inaugural campaign with a visit to a United Way funded agency located just off the CentrePort footprint - Imagineability.
This incredible organization supports the aspirations of individuals living with a disability and strives to help all realize their potential. Staff toured their facility at 500 Madison Street and met with people working on site. Imagineability offers community-based services to over 230 clients seeking paid employment and facilitates connections in the community. Additionally, they offer contract manufacturing services to local businesses. Please visit www.imagineability.ca to learn more about their programs and how they help local businesses integrate individuals with disabilities into their workforce.
The CentrePort United Way campaign continued with Conscious Kindness Day - an initiative started by the United Way to plan and carry out acts of conscious kindess to those around us. You can see some of the thoughtful acts our staff participated in throughout the day in the pictures to the right.
Lastly, our staff participated in the Make the Month challenge - Canada’s first online poverty simulation. With 1 in 10 Canadians living in poverty, this simulation gave staff a glimpse into the struggle many Winnipeggers face to make ends meet and increased our awareness of social issues in our community. To help better understand this complex issue, please take a few minutes to try and ‘Make the Month’: http://www.makethemonth.ca/

CERTIFIED LEED® GoldStantec’s downtown office on Portage Avenue was certified LEED® Gold for Commercial Interiors. Providing a quality indoor environ-ment for Stantec staff was the overarching design consideration on all aspects of the LEED® scorecard.
The project maximizes energy efficiency by utilizing a district geothermal system; Winnipeg’s first. Lighting power density was reduced by 36.7% compared to the baseline standard. Low flow fixtures contribute to a reduction of 61.43% in water use.
“Our success in achieving LEED® Gold certification for Commercial Interiors is the result of strong collaboration within our buildings team,” said Eric Wiens, Stantec’s vice president and regional leader for Manitoba. “I can’t think of a better way to serve our staff and provide a working model for our clients than to achieve this certi-fication from the CaGBC, demonstrating our own indoor environ-mental quality and high-performance building design understand-ing and capacity within our Winnipeg office.”
