The children have had a great start to the Summer Term and it has been wonderful to welcome them all back. We are really looking forward to a busy fun packed term with lots of learning experiences across the curriculum.
As the weather is getting warmer please ensure your child’s jumper or cardigan is labelled clearly with their name, as these do tend to go missing when children take them off.
Please also ensure your child is wearing the appropriate clothes for PE – see the list of items below. Shorts or tracksuit bottoms should be plain with no logo and the t-shirt and sweatshirt/cardigan should be the school logo items. We are very proud of our uniform and expect all children to follow the school policy for uniform.
Black shorts or Black jogging bottoms
School sweatshirt or cardigan
Red school t-shirt
Trainers

Welcome back Nursery! The children all settled back in remarkably well this week, so happy to be back and playing with friends. We are so pleased that they were able to see a great show of tulips and narcissi that they planted last term and enjoyed giving them lots of TLC!
Welcome back Reception! Spring is finally here and the sun is shining - what a brilliant way to kick
start the Summer term! We love seeing the children in the classrooms and the buzz in Reception
wing is once again full of life. With the weather warming up and the sunshine
popping out to say hello, the children have been really getting into water play
this week. We’ve been hearing lots of splishy splashy sounds as well as
swooshing and swirling, and really love watching it drip, sprinkle, pour and
gush. Let’s hope the sunshine stays so that we can
continue learning and experimenting.
We’ve also been thinking about the world this week
and the different countries and continents that make
up our planet. We’ve had a go at making flags from
around the world and looking at world maps.
.
Hello and welcome back to what is going to be a busy summer term. The children have
very quickly settled back into the classroom routines and are diving straight into the
excitement of our new learning.
Prior to the Easter break, each of the Year 2 classes planted beans which the team have
taken home and looked after. The children were eager to see how they are doing and how
big they are. In our science lesson this week the children were challenged to measure
each of the bean plants and suggest why some grew healthier than others, making
connections to our previous learning. This will link nicely into our new learning in science of
‘Living things and their Habitats’.
We have now started our new topic ‘Journey Through Asia’. This week the children used
maps, atlases and globes to locate the country we are going to be looking at in depth for
our new geography learning. The children were fascinated to discover where Brunei is in
the world and zoom in even further to explore the settlement of Kampong Ayer. In
introducing our new topic, the children were filled with questions and cannot wait to learn
more about it and how it differs from life in Hampton. We have also begun to explore our
topic through our new text ‘The Tiger Child’ where the children were given the opportunity
to respond to the story through drama
Welcome back Year 1!
We really hope that you have enjoyed the Easter break. The children have settled in
brilliantly and have been extremely happy to see all their school friends since. We have
a fun filled Summer Term coming up, the children will be experience with lots of
different workshops . Next week we have the West End coming into school for a dance
workshop. We have started our new focus book 'Sharing a Shell' for English and
children will be writing descriptive sentences about the characters and setting. In Maths
we have been focusing on capacity and volume with lots of practical work.

IMPORTANT
Covid 19
Please do not send your child into school if they or a member of the household has had a covid test and are awaiting the results. Your child can return to school once you have received a negative re-sult.
If your child is displaying any of the symptoms below please call the school office and speak to a member of staff.
A high temperature
A new, continuous cough- this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more cough-ing episodes in 24 hours
A loss or change to sense of smell or taste-this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Parent Support Advisor
The children are all settling back into school
life once again and hopefully we have seen
the last of home-schooling for a while.
Although this transition back to school would
have been a long overdue and happy one
for most of the children, some may have
struggled. Adjusting back into school
routines, getting enough sleep and missing
home comforts can have an impact on
children’s behaviours. If you are struggling
or have any worries or concerns about your
child why not contact me for a chat. I am
here to offer support and advice or just a
listening ear when needed. You can contact
me directly via email
mobile 07471234544.
Best wishes Karen Finnegan

Message from the local NHS - Think you need to go to A&E? Think NHS 111 First
If you need urgent, but not life-threatening care, call NHS 111 before turning up to an emergency department. If, following a
conversation with NHS 111, it is appropriate for you to attend the emergency department you may be scheduled a time to
attend.
Thinking NHS 111 First will also help you get to the most appropriate service when you may not have to attend the emergency
department. This could include self-care or a slot at your GP practice, a GP hub or a nearby Urgent Treatment Centre.
You can still go to ED and UTC without calling ahead but thinking 'NHS 111 First' will give shorter waiting times via a booked
slot at the emergency department or another appropriate service and
safe social distancing away from busy emergency department waiting rooms to protect you and others from COVID-19
