Arts Week performance in the Auditorium.
This morning Year 3 held their class assembly on the topic of
‘Earthquakes and Volcanoes’. It was a very well prepared and well-
presented occasion, culminating in Michael Jackson song prior to a
closing dance to celebrate the forthcoming half term holiday. As always
the enthusiasm of the students was infectious and their clear explanations
of quite complex topics showed the depth of learning that has taken place
as they have covered this IPC unit of work. Congratulations to both
teachers and students.
Last week a weekend of football was hosted here in Ipoh for students of Tenby Schools, Setia
Eco Park and our own footballers. The weekend was an enjoyable and successful one and
huge thanks go yet again to Mr. Ricky and all of the teachers who gave up their weekend to
make the occasion such as success.
Today we say ‘bon voyage’ to the group of thirty students who are leaving Ipoh for a week in
London for a week of sightseeing with an emphasis on theatre and the arts. I am sure that they
will have a wonderful week away as well as being first class ambassadors for our school.
The public examination season is coming gradually to a close with the list of papers remaining
to be taken forming a smaller pile than those already written. The administration of these ex-
amination is a hugely complex task requiring immense attention to detail and my thanks go to
our examinations officer, Mr. Francis Roberts for all that he has done to ensure that everything
runs smoothly.
Finally best wishes for a pleasant and enjoyable half term break to all students, staff and their
families. Have a good rest and come back refreshed for a busy and productive second half of
the term!
Howard Bullock.
From the Campus Principal
Dear TISSI Community,
Arguably the single most important question on the
lips of our Secondary School learners is ‘what am I
going to do with a whole week off school’? Now our
parents might well respond with “go and do some
extra tuition” whilst my response to the students is
simple: go rest and have a well-earned period of
down time! Students at TISSI impress everyone
with their seemingly indefatigable energy for
studies and school. However, we are not producing
robots, but rather are striving to develop young
adults with a thirst for knowledge and a lifelong
love of learning. To allow this to happen effectively,
rest and recuperation is a fundamental prerequi-
site. I therefore urge parents and guardians to
embrace the fact that every learner needs some
serious rest. With end of year examinations and
assessments just around the corner, now more
than ever would be the optimum time for a breather
and the opportunity to recharge the battery pack.
I want to say well done to our colleagues in TIPSI
who in the early course of this week went through a
‘light-touch’ Corporate Office review. It was great
having Mrs. Denise Sinclair and Mr. Jonathan
Warner on Campus, and I know how much they
enjoyed working side by side with Mr. David Key
and scrutinizing all of the vibrant learning that takes
place throughout the Primary school. As with TISSI
CORT review, the report findings will be instrumen-
tal in targeting the best path forward, so that
students, parents, teachers and all members of our
wider community can see the fruits of our labour.
It was good to see yet more sport on the Ipoh
campus over the last weekend. Mr. Ricky has been
like the proverbial Energiser Bunny in recent
weeks, and been working non-stop on athletics,
swimming and other sporting events. SEP were our
visitors and there were a host of TISSI boys and
girls football matches which
exposed our students to a
high level of challenge and
competition. Thanks to Mr.
Ricky for his unstinting com-
mitment to getting as many
students involved in sport as
possible. Although my creaking body is not
hugely up to the task of major participation
sports these days, my love of so many sports
stems from the extra mile travelled by my junior
and senior coaches. Instilling this passion in
young students so that they embrace participa-
tion well after they leave Tenby is a huge goal of
the school.
On Tuesday of this week, many members of the
Parent’s Association took time out of their own
busy schedules to show their appreciation for the
Teaching and Admin team, by sharing a simply
delightful lunch with us. The Staffroom was ab-
solutely buzzing from 10.45 all the way through
until around 3.00pm. Saying thank you and well
done is something that can all too often be over-
looked, so when anyone hears those words,
then naturally they feel upbeat and positive. To
the PA – thanks a million on behalf of all Teach-
ers and Admin staff for your kind words and
generousity.
For all those families who are opting to travel
over the upcoming vacation, I wish you “safiri
salama” and I look forward to welcoming you
back on to campus when we reopen the Campus
on Monday 1st June. Please remember that my
door and those of the TISSI teaching team are
always open. We are here to help and guide in
whatever we can.
Best wishes,
Neil David Page.
From the Head of International Secondary
The Primary has had a review of some area of
education over the last 3 days by our Corporate
Office Tenby Review team. This was not a full
school review but rather looked at these 4 areas
of our school.
1. Teaching and Learning.
2. Faculty and Support Staff.
3. Access to Teaching and Learning.
4. Health and Safety.
The review team has been very positive about
the school in its draft report and has noted how
the staff work together in a very collaborative
manner and that the school has a very positive
feel about it. Once we have the full report with
commendations and recommendations we will
be able to look at future planning in those areas
which have been pin-pointed as areas needing
attention. The staff and I will work on a school
improvement plan so as to ensure that we can
improve those areas which need strengthening
and further develop those areas which are
already satisfactory but may need tweaking to
make them consistently good.
Personally, I would like to thank the staff for
their commitment to this review and for wanting
to help our school move on from this review into
the next school year with a positive attitude.
This commitment will be shown in the improve-
ment in the student’s learning, and as we put in
place further plans for individual student devel-
opment we will have pupil tracking and target
setting for all.
From the Head of International Primary
This past two weeks, Ms.
Samantha has been absent
due to pressing family
matters and we look forward
to her return in early June.
Thanks so much to the
Early Years staff Ms. Gi,
Ms. Ambiga as well as Mrs Das our Reception
teacher, who have been completing the teach-
ing and learning program planned for these
weeks by Ms. Samantha with enthusiasm.
Great job ladies!
Thank you to all the parents who have returned
the slips for the production. This has helped
with our planning for the event. Those students
who will not be participating will be not lose out
on lesson time but will be given tasks in line
with their respective needs. If you have not yet
returned the slip could you please do so
soonest.
Best regards
David C Key
Warmest greetings to all.
On the 15 May 2015 (Friday), 21 KSSR 5 students were taken on a field trip to visit
the famous 3D Art Museum in Penang, chaperoned by Mr David, Ms Nurmariah
and Ms Rita.
The objective of the trip is to provide an opportunity for the children to think crea-
tively when they were asked to observe, analyse, interpret and describe the images
seen.
The Penang Interactive 3D Museum is more than the sheer fun of posing with trick art or 3D murals.
With all the artworks done by the Penang artists, the museum has combined fun, culture and the history
of Penang into intriguing displays that allow the students to have a quick and easy understanding of
Penang. Essentially, it’s Penang as a whole where students were able to explore the 5 different sections
of the museum:
Great Wall of Penang
Miniature Local Trades
Miniature Weld Quay
Trick Art Gallery
Interactive Theatre
In this trip, the students were captivated by the almost realistic
displays and images that snapshots were continuously being
taken with different backgrounds and poses. Even the teachers
can’t resist but to join in the fun.
By 11.00 am, the students proceeded to Queensbay Mall to
have lunch as well as to buy some souvenirs for themselves as
a remembrance of such a wonderful day trip with their friends.
It was an informative and enjoyable trip for all.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to Ms Nurmariah, Ms Rita
and Mr David for organizing and accompanying the students on
this educational trip.

Dear Parents / Guardians,
Teachers play a key role in our life and have a major share in shaping it. It is a
teacher who, with chalk and a board, teaches us the art of living. They nurture tal-
ent, cultivate young minds and make successful individuals and beautiful people
out of ordinary girls and boys. They teach us what it means to be successful and
they expose us to competition. They tell us what achievement means and teach us
what it takes to accomplish something in life. They teach us to dream big and to never have a fear of
failure. They are there for us whenever we need them and they see us grow. On Monday, 18th May
2015 as a show of gratitude, the PA organized a lunch treat for all staff at Tenby Early Years Centre
Ipoh to celebrate teacher’s day. The staff and I would like to thank the PA Committee for making us
feel valued.
Teaching the gift of giving is a valuable life lesson appropriate for any age. Research shows that peo-
ple who are involved in charitable activities when they are young are twice as likely to continue being
charitable in adulthood. Having said this, our children at Early Years Centre Ipoh participated in a non-
uniform day on Wednesday, 20th May 2015 as part of a charity drive to raise funds to help the victims
of Nepal’s earthquake which recently ravaged the country. To help children understand the devastation
experienced, the children were shown the video clip of the earthquake which illustrated the damage it
caused. From the later discussions, the children realized how lucky they were to have all the comforts
of home with fresh food and clean water. Thank you to all the generous parents who contributed to our
collection, the grand total of which summed up to RM2420.
Have an enjoyable mid-term break!

I have 2 favourite things about Arts Week: 1) The way in which it allows our
students to show their amazing talents; and 2) The way in which it is only
possible through a real team effort. The 4 performances showcased stu-
dents musical, drama and dance talents and I continue to be amazed by the
students’ skills.
It is not only the students’ talents that amaze me, but also their dedication
– giving up hours to rehearse; maturity – exhibiting superb behaviour
backstage, and sheer and unbridled enthusiasm! It has truly been a pleas-
ure to work with all of these wonderful young people over the course of the
year – culminating in the weeks’ range of performances. Tenby students
are truly phenomenal!
Arts Week would not have been possible without the help of the entire
team – Dr Jeff, Mr David, Ms Choo Swee, Ms Michelle, Mr Darren, Mr Ricky
– thank you for all of your efforts.
But the Tenby team goes much much wider than just the Arts Curriculum Area. We had phenomenal support from all
areas of the school. Thank you goes to Mr Loo, Marcus and the site staff for their help. Thank you to Mr Lee and Mr
Adrian for all of their technical support. Thank you to Mr Page and the senior team for their continued support – even
when we want to turn the Auditorium back to front. Thank you to all of the teachers who came to watch or helped out
backstage. Thank you to the staff who coped without grumbling with disruption to the Auditorium timetable and the
Library. Thank you to the office and library staff for helping with tickets, posters, phone calls from parents and guard-
ians. Thank you to the whole Tenby team – events like this are not possible without you all.
My sincere thanks also goes to our wonderful PA who helped with refreshments on each evening – we are truly grate-
ful for your support.
Thank you to our wonderful prefects who helped backstage
and with ‘front of house’ every night. Thank you to Mah Zi
Sheng, Paula Garbel and Benjamin Chan who looked after
lighting and photography.
Thank you to the friends and family who came to support
the students as members of our audience.
As you can see – events such as this truly are a Team event
from school staff to parents to students. And the last word
does have to be for the phenomenal students who worked
tirelessly to produce such outstanding work – Tenby is you
– the students – great young people who have great talents
and abilities, and a very bright future!

It was very gratifying to see a large and enthusiastic crowd of parents,
friends and relatives coming together to support An Evening of Music
concert which took place on the first day of Arts Week 2015. The con-
cert programme was variously assembled from the excellent work
done in the CCAs for strings, primary and secondary choirs and or-
chestra, the IGCSE music students of Year 10 as well as the work of
students who study instruments individually. Among the concert’s
debut performances were those by our orchestral ensemble and the
primary choir as well as those by many of our soloists.
The first half of the programme was given over to the more junior en-
sembles and students. The Latin rhythms of Samba Samba, performed
by the Tenby Strings Group, set a suitably upbeat tone at the outset of the evening while the Primary Choirs’ rendition
of the Japanese folk song Hotaru Koi impressed with its rhythmic precision and acutely gauged intonation. The first
soloist of the evening, Jesse Nazareno, took the roof off with his stunning Electone performance of the Star Wars theme
and followed this with a thigh- slappingly infectious account of the 1970s classic Sha La La. Jesse was followed by
eight more soloists from Years 7 and 8, all of whom had spent many hours over many weeks preparing for their perfor-
mances. They all acquitted themselves splendidly in a wide range of repertoire including both classical and popular mu-
sic. Fu Jing Hee’s (Y8) virtuosic performance of themes from Pirates of the Caribbean made a particularly strong im-
pression as did Dhanya Lakzmi’s skills on both piano and violin.
The second half saw the first public performance by the Tenby School Orchestra, playing an arrangement of the English
folk song Scarborough Fair followed by the theme from the Flintstones movie. As in the first half, there were many solo
instrumental items to enjoy as well as a number of vocal solos. Nicole Tan (Y9) gave an impassioned account of the pop
song Heart Attack while Emily Tan (Y10) successfully invoked the mood and style of Adele’s hit Someone Like You.
Marco George attracted much attention with his own composition Endless Dream in which he vocally simulated the
sound of both an improvising saxophone and percussion instruments using the ‘beatboxing’ technique. Emily and
Marco joined forces with their fellow IGCSE music student Chew Xin Yi in a moving tribute to the late B.B. King with a
performance of his classic hit Stand by Me.
The evening concluded with two performances by the Secondary Choir: the first, an arrangement of I Want it That Way
by the Backstreet Boys and the second, an arrangement of Vueli, the opening number from the movie Frozen. Thus,
music born of ice brought to conclusion a concert hallmarked by the passion of its performers and the warmth and en-
thusiasm of its audience.
Dr. Jeffrey Rowlands,
Director of Music.
From Cordelia Loh:
As you all know, we had a very interesting time during Tenby Ipoh's Arts Week. I would like to refresh your minds on
the magical time we had.
On the first day of the performance, which was on the 12th May 2015, the Evening of Music was held. There were vocal-
ists, secondary and primary choirs, bands and other performances. Everyone who watched the show enjoyed it im-
mensely as sweet music filled our ears.
On the second day, 13th May 2015, the Evening of Drama was held. The drama was equally exciting. It was performed
by the Secondary Drama CCA members. The title of the Drama was 'Arson About'. Everyone watched intently as the
amazing actors and actresses blew away the hearts of the audience with their magnificent acting.
Then, we had an Evening of Dance on the 14th May 2015. All Key Stage 3 students of the International section of our
Secondary School performed a dance with their respective class. As the final piece, the students of Dance CCA
(including National and International Secondary students) performed their 30 minute piece entitled 'Unation'. All of the
dances were spectacular and creative.
Even after that, it was not quite the end. On the following
day, 15th May 2015, there was a dance matinee performance -
Afternoon of Dance. It was an identical performance to the
Evening of Dance and gave the opportunity for more of the
Tenby family to come and see the students perform.
All in all, it was a majestic week and I hope that there will be
another Arts Week next year and the years after that.
From Marco George:
What makes us fully human? Besides having “knowledge” of
the world about us....
Its the juices of creativity, imagination and talent and all that came into play on the 12th 13th and 14th of May 2015: Arts
Week!
It was ignited first with the Evening of Music which left audiences in bewilderment and awe as the musicians played
their passionate pieces, ranging from classics to the modern as well as orchestra ensembles. Everyone was there!
The Evening of Drama kept the flame going as students from the drama CCA performed a play called “Arson About”.
The performance-well... it was supercalafragalisticaspialadocious (not in spell-checker)! Everyone was emotionally
moved while watching the twists and turns of relationships and wittiness before their eyes. I wished a lot more people
were there.
Lastly, the....its...oh no...its.. UNATION (or Younation, I’m not sure). The Evening of Dance brought all KS3 and some
KS4 students to show-off their dance skills on the dance floor, and when I say everybody loves dance I mean it. It was
mostly the audience because tickets for the evening were selling like iPhone 6 phones-BOOM BOOM! And that’s how
the dancers were; they were placing a lot of effort into their dance. But the effort goes to the students who did all three
days; I salute you! On the whole, even though it was slightly rushed, it all paid off handsomely.
The Hostel boarders went to Kuala Lumpur on 1st - 2nd May on
one of our school-subsidised trips. We left the hostel at Golf Vista,
Meru Valley at 7.00 a.m. and had our breakfast at the PLUS rest
stop. We arrived in KL at about 10.30 a.m. We visited many inter-
esting places, such the KLCC where the PetroSains Discovery
Centre is. We spent many hours enjoying the wonders of science
and the universe. At the Planetarium we experienced the different
atmospheres of the planets in our solar system and we realised
no planet is as beautiful and special as our Earth.
We also visited the Central Market and the different stalls display-
ing all types of artwork from different countries and the prices were
quite reasonable too. We stayed at “Hotel Chinatown 2” situated
on Petaling Street; and here we practised our bargaining skills at
the night market which offered so many tempting foods.
We were disappointed that we were not able to visit a number of places. The Textile Museum
was closed. The hot spring at ‘Taman Rekreasi Air’ was so packed with visitors that we could
not enter it. We hope to make up for this at another time - probably not on a Public holiday!
It was an enjoyable Labour Day & Wesak Day break. We had a good share of walking exer-
cise because the school van was parked quite far from our destinations.

Sparring with the Perak State Wira Debate Champions
The Wednesday Club is a quintessentially Tenby invention. Every Wednesday from 3.00 to 4.30 pm we have
a motley gathering of Sixth Formers, Debating Society members from TISSI and Sekolah Tenby as well as
guest teams from other Ipoh schools. They gather to debate a topic issued by SMS to all parties, given two
days in advance. It is a classic illustration of school integration and partnerships between various schools to
promote the use of English as the language of debates.
Typically on Wednesday 20th May 2015, there was a spectacular fiesta of verbal dueling between SMK
Methodist (ACS), Kampar, the Perak State Government Schools Debate champions 2015, and a prospective
Tenby Rotary team on the motion “ The existence of for-profit educational institutes does more harm than
good.”
Our guest team chose to debate this topic as it is listed as the opening motion in the National Dato’ Wira
Parliamentary Debates scheduled to be held next week in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
“We have chosen to debate the opening topic with Tenby Schools Ipoh because we have had a long associa-
tion with Tenby through the biannual Global Perspectives Debates, “declared Danesh Ram Aggarwal, the
captain of the guest team. “Our Tenby association and GP experience has been pivotal in helping us win the
Perak state championship this year.”
Schools which have frequently participated in the Wednesday Club debates include SMK Anderson, Ipoh, Poi
Lam Independent School, Ipoh and SMK St Michael, Ipoh.
The Tenby team comprising Dhipan Raj (KBSM 5), Mah Zi Sheng (Y10) and Vaishnevy Athithan (Sixth For-
mer – stand–in) are gearing up for the upcoming Rotary Debates scheduled for June 2015. We are not includ-
ed in the Dato’ Wira Parliamentary Debates as participation is limited to government schools.
“In view of this limitation, we appreciate partnerships like this to maximize our exposure to the best debating
teams,” explains Ms. Mangalespary, adviser to the Tenby Debate Society. “We make sure that Tenby debat-
ers participate in the SIDEO debates (Petronas University), the Mini United Nations (MUN) conferences as
well as in the Rotary Debates.”
“The Wednesday Club is testimony to the Sixth Form’s commitment towards integration not only within TISSI
but beyond with Sekolah Tenby as well as with other Ipoh schools,” explains Jasdeep Singh who serves as co
-trainer of our Tenby Rotary debate squad. “The Sixth Formers are out in full force every Wednesday as de-
baters, judges and chair persons.”
“We do it with gusto that it the envy of any Sixth Form school,” proclaims Kenneth Tan, shadow president of
the Sixth Form Council.

The Wednesday Club
It was yet another day where Tenby Schools’
Ipoh Interact Club sprang into action on Saturday
9th May 2015, this time we visited our Orang Asli
friends in Kg Sinju once again to help replenish
their food and clothing supplies.
This project started a month before the above
date to have parents, teachers and students con-
tribute clothing, rice and food stuff. The appeal
was generously donated and to add on to the
supply of rice bags, contributions from the non-
uniform day for Christmas 2014 amounting
RM1000.00 was utilized. A total of 60 bags of
rice, 5 bags of clothing and toys were carted to
Kg Sinju folks on that day.
With approximately 8 A Levels’ students on board
and 12 Interactors accompanied by Mr Ian
Hayes, Mr Harry Seggu, Pn Siti Mariam and Mrs
Bernie Victor, we set off at 9.00 am. At the same
time, several doctors and church members were
present in Kg Sinju to do blood tests and medical
examination for the people there. The smiles on
their faces and the excitement to see us there
simply cannot be explained in words. Although it
was our second visit there, we felt excited our-
selves to meet them once more.
It was interesting to note the way they lived without
complaining and the scarce supplies that they had,
and that it did not deter them for carrying on with
life. Hope and love kept them moving on. If I were
to put myself in their situation, I’m sure I couldn’t
have been ever grateful to God for what we have in
our lives now.
Both the Interactors and A Levels’ students kept
reminding each other of how we should appreciate
the benefits we are enjoying currently compared to
our bothers and sisters in Kg Sinju. At the same
time, our Interactors understood the true meaning
of our club’s motto “Service Above Self” through
this project as well.
The finale of our visit was a cool dipping of our feet
in the stream flowing from the mountains surround-
ing Kg Sinju. A hectic day but which paid off well
and satisfied beyond measure, we bid farewell to
our friends there, promising to visit them again, this
time to help them install LED lights in their dwell-
ings. This will be our next project.
A word of thanks and appreciation to parents,
teachers, students and the School Management for
their assistance and contribution towards this com-
munity service project of Tenby Schools Ipoh Inter-
act Club. God bless you all.

The Sixth Form Council
Shadow Cabinet Comes to the Fore
With the CIE AS and A Level Examinations currently in progress, the day-to-day affairs and pro-
grammes of the Sixth Form Council are now managed by the ‘shadow cabinet’ manned by the
members of Cohort 11. The key players in the executive committee are Kenneth Tan (President),
Jasdeep Singh (Vice President) and Vaishnevy Ahithan (Vice President).
Here are some excerpts from our interview with the key players:
Q What is the main challenge you face as President?
Kenneth: Living up to the high expectations of the school community as student leaders and
scholars worthy of emulation by our fellow students. Apart from seeking to achieve all-round ex-
cellence on a personal level, I have to mobilise my fellow Sixth Formers to give their best on the
co-curricular front. I also face the ever-present challenge to prove that the Tenby Sixth form is
worthy of the best who join us from anywhere.
Q You have been here for five months now. What is your assessment of the co-curricular
programme at Tenby?
Jasdeep: I think it’s superbly tailored to meet the present and future needs of Sixth formers. Most
of us in the Sixth Form already have our sports and societal activities. What we really need is a
boost in drama, community service and public speaking opportunities. There are very few Sixth
Form schools which have a programme like Tenby Ipoh which really challenges us to be more
global in our outlook and thinking.
Q What are the main items on your upcoming Sixth Form Council agenda?
Vaishnevy: Our first target is to perform Shakespeare’s “The Winter’s Tale” to our lower school
audiences before going out to various Ipoh schools in June/July 2015. Everyone in Cohort 11 is
being fully geared up to meet this objective. Next, we have to organize the Orientation Programme
for Cohort 12 who will be joining us in mid-June 2015. Apart from these, we are planning the An-
nual Leadership Camp (September 2015) as well as a fellowship visit to the Home for the Senior
Citizens Kampung Simee. As you can see, we have our hands full. There’s never a dull moment
here at Tenby Ipoh.
When asked how he felt about being the new team captain, he replied
“I’m really looking forward to playing under a Liverpool Football Club-style
genius like Mr Darren”…….. joke!! He really said, “I’m really looking for-
ward to being the team captain at competitions next year and being a
good leader for the team”.
I selected Danaraj to be team captain because he reads the game well
from defence and is totally committed. He has real leadership qualities
which generates enthusiasm and high levels of motivation amongst his
team mates. Good luck, Danaraj!

Inter-school Prefectorial Board Team-Building Activities between Tenby & AMC
Last Friday on 15th May 2015, the Prefectorial Board of Tenby Schools Ipoh organised an excursion to
SJKC Ave Maria Convent (AMC). The purpose of this event was to improve inter-school relations and
develop better teamwork amongst the prefects.
During the visit, both Prefectorial Boards compared their administrative systems. After a few light ice-
breakers the prefects held team-building activities together. The activities had been planned with the
intention of training a prefect’s key social skills, such as teamwork and leadership. Furthermore, teams
for the activities had been formed by mixing Tenby prefects with AMC prefects to promote cultural ex-
change.
The prefects were tasked with situations where outside-of-the-box thinking and good communication
skills would be required. For example, building a structure with chopsticks and straws, directing a group
of people without speaking, etc. Despite having different educational backgrounds, the prefects of both
schools were able to work very well together.
Without doubt, the ex-
cursion was successful
and the Prefectorial
Board looks forward to
having more joint events
with other schools in the
future, perhaps even
with the other Tenby
Schools?

Tenby Ipoh & Tenby Setia Eco Park Football Exhibition –
Friday 15th
May – Sunday 17th
May
Last weekend saw students of Tenby
Setia Eco Park (SEP) arrive in Ipoh for
an action-packed weekend of football
where our students continued to push
themselves to the limits, showing a
great deal of commitment, skill, desire
and passion over the course of the
weekend. The weekend was very fairly
contested by both schools, with Tenby
SEP leaving with an advantage as we
await the return fixtures sometime later
this year.
There was a buzz of excitement in the build up to the weekend, and we kicked off pro-
ceedings with our newly formed girl’s football team. It was a closely contested match
which ended 1-3 to Tenby SEP with Amera Irrisya getting the goal for Tenby Ipoh. Unfor-
tunately the girl’s team went on to lose the remaining two matches over the course of the
weekend 0-4, nevertheless this newly formed team showed a lot of potential and fantastic
progression over the weekend and we look forward to seeing them in action again later
this year.
The boys too formed a relatively new team for this weekend as players were selected
from both the U15 and U18 boys’ football teams. It did not take long for the boys to hit
their stride as a team and with goals from Calvin Ng Meng Hong and Jamal Khoo, they
finished their first match of the weekend with a well-deserved 2-2 draw. Unluckily for the
boys they were unable to convert their good possession and chances into enough goals
over the rest of the weekend, with Jordan Terence Loke scoring in a narrow 1-2 defeat
and Jamal Khoo scoring again in a rain interrupted 1-3 defeat on Sunday.
Well done to both our football teams and thank you to all those who came to show their
support for the teams this weekend and to all the staff that helped with the coaching and
officiating. Both teams are eagerly awaiting the return fixtures, which will be held later in
2015.

Hello! On Monday 27th. April 2015, we, the “journalists” from the Primary Journalism Club had
