3.17.08 Michael Armstrong• What would a school look like if imagination

were placed at its center?• Curriculum should be non-prescriptive, open-

ended, interdisciplinary• A teacher should follow the imaginative lead

of his students• Assessment would come from documentation

(analyzing, examining)• Imaginative work needs a public space

Page 9: Nikki’s Q/C Presentation S301 and ESR Connection

3.17.08 Michael Armstrong“School is a place where values and

knowledge are developed and exchanged”

Artvisory• Small groups of students would be assigned an

“artvisor” • Teachers, administrators, school staff would all

be responsible for an artvisory• Students would be able to decide** what

artvisories study• Artvisors would specifically address imagination• Artvisories would produce and share

imaginative work all over the school building and in the community, helping to shape culture

Page 11: Nikki’s Q/C Presentation S301 and ESR Connection

???• How much training/coaxing would artvisors

need to feel comfortable and safe themselves?• Would this impact school culture effectively?• How could we ensure buy-in? From

stakeholders? Students?• In the age of assessment, does documentation
