  A MAN in his 40s has diedollowing a two-vehicleroad trafc collision on theClanabogan Road in Omaghyesterday.

The victim was the drivero a car which was involved ina collision with a bus shortlybeore 4.30pm.

The driver o the bus was

not seriously injured andthere were no passengers onthe bus at the time.

Police have appealed oranyone who was on the Dro-more Road/Clanabogan Roadat the time o the collision oranyone who witnessed theincident to contact them inOmagh on 0845 600 8000.

ULSTER motorists have noneed to panic-buy petrol as next

  week’s scheduled tanker driverstrike will have no impact here,it was claimed last night.

In many parts o Britain saleso petrol have shot up 45 per cent

 with diesel sales up 20 per cent, while there were also reports o 

longer than normal queues atsome orecourts here.

However, Bob Miller rom theunion Unite said that just ourdrivers rom Northern Ireland

  would be taking part in theUK-wide action and warnedagainst “scaremongering” on

this side o the Irish Sea.“There will be no, or minimal,

impact in Northern Ireland withthe looming petrol tanker driv-ers’ strike,” he said last night.

His comments were echoed byStormont’s Enterprise Minister

 Arlene Foster.“We understand that o the

around Northern Ireland, onlyone company’s drivers have vot-

ed or a strike,” she said.Meanwhile, Government in-

spectors have revealed that crim-inals are oering local business-es do-it-yoursel kits to laundertheir own uel as prices continueto rocket.
