Air Pollution Control Equipment

Year 1997 LKAB installed a pilot Blast Furnace at Swerea-MEFOS, Luleå. The product gas contains both CO and H2. The Blast Furnace operates at 0,8 bar over pressure. The design pressure for the WESP is 1,5 bar. The emissi-on standards for dust are < 10 mg/Nm3. This gave WESP as the optimal choice.

A technology and supplier we strongly recommend

Result; The installations operates in campains for appr. 5 weeks. More than 30 campains are done. Emissions are measured

in the range 1-3 mg/Nm3..

A compact installation with a minimum foot-print. More than 15 year operations has shown excellent accessibility and low emis-sions.
