It is easy to see everything inday time
But at night , we can see
a little..
And Night visiontechnology let usee again innight also..

Night Vision technologyconsists of two majortypes:
image intensification(light amplification) and
Thermalimaging(infrared).

They operate on the principal that all objects emit
infrared energy as a function of their temperature. In
general, the hotter an object is, the more radiation it
emits. A thermal imager is a product that collects theinfrared radiation from objects in the scene and creates
an electronic image.
Thermal images are normally black and white in
nature, where black objects are cold and white objects
are hot. Some thermal cameras show images in color .

* A special lens that focuses the infrared light emitted by
all of the objects in view .
* An infrared detector .
* Signal processing unit .
* A display device .

Thermal imaging:
ADVANTAGES:
The highest possible thermalsensitivity.
Able to detect people andvehicles at great distances.
Not affected by bright lightsources.
Able to perform high speedinfrared imaging.
DISADVANTAGES:
Expensive to purchase and tooperate.
Limited cooler operating life time.
Bulky.

It is also called light amplification.
It is less expensive than thermal.
Light amplification technology takes the small
amount of light, such as moonlight or starlight,
that is in the surrounding area, and converts the
light energy (scientists call it photons), into
electrical energy (electrons).
IMAGE INTENSIFICATION:

IMAGE INTENSIFICATION:
ADVANTAGES
Excellent low-light levelsensitivity.
High resolution.
Low power and cost.
Ability to identify people.
DISADVANTAGES
This method is not usefulwhen there is essentially nolight.
Possibility of damage whenobserving bright sources under
low-light conditions.

GOGGLES
While goggles can be
handheld, they are most
often worn on the head.
Goggles are binocular(two eye-pieces) and
may have a single lens
or stereo lens,
depending on the model.

CAMERAS
Cameras with night-
vision technology can
send the image to amonitor for display.
Also used for Wildlife
photography and moviemaking.

Conclusion
The original purpose of night vision was to locate enemy
targets at night.
It is still used extensively by the military for that purpose, as
well as for navigation, surveillance and targeting.
Police and security often use both thermal- imaging and
image-enhancement technology, particularly for surveillance.
