AboutUs:ThegoaloftheCanadianCulinaryFederationistounitechefsandcooksacrossCanadainacommondedicationtoprofessionalexcellence.TheCanadianCulinaryFederation(CCF)wasfoundedin1963andincorporatedinOttawaasanon-profitassociationin1972.Sinceitsinception,thefederationhasenjoyedadeepandlong-standingtraditionasCanada'struerepresentationoftheprofessionalchefandcook.

TheOkanaganChefsAssociationispartoftheCanadianCulinaryFederation,thelargestassociationofcookingprofessionalsinCanada.Weoffertheopportunityforcareeradvancementtoculinarians,throughnetworkingwithothercookingprofessionalsacrossCanada.
Weareanot-for-profitsociety,managedbyanelectedBoardofDirectors,maintainingaffiliationwiththeCCFbywayofcharterandacceptanceofnationalbylaws.WeareagroupofChefs,Cooks,JuniorChefsandAssociateswhoseprimarypurposeistonetworkandpromoteculinaryprofessionalism.
TheOkanaganChefsAssociationisamemberoftheCanadianCulinaryFederation(CCF)andtheWorldAssociationofChefsSocieties(WACS)whichisaglobalassociationofChefs.
Wehavetenmeetingsperyear,eightofourmeetingsaredinnermeetings,andarehostedbyourmembersandtwomeetingsareeducationalmeetings.ThedinnermeetingsprovideopportunitiestovisitmanyoftheOkanagan'sfinestrestaurants.Throughouttheyear,wealsoschedulesomeofourmeetingsasfieldtrips,featuringtoursoffarms,wineries,andotherplacesoflocalculinaryinterest.Typicallywehaveaguestspeakeratmeetingstoprovideourmemberswithinformationonthelatestculinarytrendsorproductsavailable.Wemeetfor10meetingsperyear,withahiatusinJulyandAugust.

• Chef:ThismembershipisopentothosewhohaveattainedtheirProfessionalChefsaccreditation.InB.C.,thiswouldbetheRedSeal.TheycanalsoqualifyformembershipiftheyhavebeenaprofessionalworkingChefforseveralyears,withtheapprovaloftheOCABoardExecutive
• JuniorChef:ThismembershipisopenforaCulinarystudentorapprentice,whoisworkingtowardsacquiringtheirprofessionalaccreditation,buthasnotyetreceivedit.
• Associate:ThismembershipisopentothosethatarenotaCheforCulinarystudent,butareinvolvedintheCulinaryindustry.Theymightbeasupplierforafooddistribution
