FAIL TO SYNC ALARM - WHEN TRANSFERRING BETWEEN ENERGIZED SOURCES IN CLOSED TRANSITION MODE, CONTROL WILL INITIATE AN ALARM IF SOURCES FAIL TO REACH SYNCHONISM WITHIN 60 SECONDS. ALARM (RED) LED WILL LIGHT, AND AUDIBLE HORN WILL BE ACTIVATED. ALARM SILENCE PUSHBUTTON IS AVAILABLE ON DISPLAY. BYPASS CLOSED TRANSITION TRANSFER – IF A FAIL TO SYNC ALARM IS ACTIVE, A BYPASS PUSHBUTTON IS PROVIDED ON THE STATUS SCREEN TO INITIATE A DELAYED TRANSITION TRANSFER. IF PRESSED, SWITCH WILL OPEN THE CONNECTED SOURCE AND INITIATE A TIME DELAY ON TRANSFER TO THE OTHER SOURCE. DELAY TIMERS ARE ACCESIBLE VIA THE TIMER SCREEN (HOME>SETPOINT> OPERATION>TIMERS). EXTENDED PARALLEL PROTECTION - IN A CLOSED TRANSTION TRANSFER, THE TIME PERIOD THAT BOTH SOURCES ARE CLOSED TO THE LOAD IS CONTROLLED TO BE LESS THAN, OR EQUAL TO 100ms. A TWO-STAGE PROTECTION SYSTEM IS PROVIDED TO PROTECT AGAINST EXTENDED PARALELING OF BOTH SOURCES DURING A CLOSED TRANSITON TRANSFER.
OPEN LAST CLOSED PROECTION: IF THE CONTROL FAILS TO OPEN THE SOURCE THAT IT IS ATTEMPTING TO TRANSFER OUT OF WITHIN 500ms, AN ALARM WILL SOUND AND THE SOURCE THAT WAS LAST CLOSED WILL BE OPENED. TRANSFER OPERATION WILL BE LOCKED OUT UNTIL THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN RECTIFIED AND THE RESET PUSHBUTTON HAS BEEN PRESSED.
BACKUP SHUNT TRIP PROTECTION: A SIGNAL WILL BE PROVIDED TO SHUNT TRIP AN UPSTREAM GENERATOR CIRCUIT BREAKER (CUSTOMER PROVIDED) IF BOTH SOURCES REMAIN CLOSED FOR 750ms. THE SIGNAL WILL REMAIN ACTIVE UNTIL ONE OF THE SOURCES IS OPEN. THE BACKUP SHUT TRIP SYSTEM UTILIZES LIMIT SWITCHES AND A BACKUP CONTROL SYSTEM THAT IS COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT OF AND REDUNDENT TO THE MX350 CONTROL SYSTEM.

A PROGRAMMABLE ENGINE EXERCISER IS PROVIDED AS A STANDARD CONTROL FEATURE ON ALL ZTE TRANSFER SWITCHES. TWO (2) DIFFERENT TYPES OF EXERCISERS ARE CONFIGURABLE IN THE CONTROLLER:
- PERIODIC EXERCISER: IF ENABLED, THE ATS WILL PERFORM A TEST FUNCTION ON A PERIODIC BASIS, DEPENDING ON THE EXERCISER SETTING TYPE.
