Teaching:
On Tribe, Truth and Christ: Every
group has stories and language
that shapes the way people think
and act. This reality can easily
lead to division and the suppression
of truth and grace. Paul invites us
to develop the same mind by
imitating the mind of Christ. How
can following Jesus open the door
for both the gracious acceptance of
the other and humble approach to
truth? Come tonight as we explore
how Phil 2 confronts our world.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY
*Today we celebrate GEMS Sunday! The purpose of GEMS is to
help bring girls (in Grades 5-9) into a living, dynamic relationship
with Jesus Christ. To help foster this all-important relationship
between each girl and Christ, other relationships are nurtured as well
— between the girls and between the girls and their counselors. This
morning we celebrate our GEMS and give God thanks for all the girls
that attend and also their very dedicated counselors and helpers!
*Our condolences to Jackie and Hidde Born as Hidde’s brother-
in-law died this past week in Holland. We pray for the Lord's comfort
to you and your family.
*We pray for God’s care and healing for Carina Schonenburg, as
she has surgery this coming week.
*Continue to pray for the elderly members of our congregation,
including Peter Braak, Rennie Westergreen, Edyth Brouwer, Jenny
Brink, Cathy Plantinga, Hilda Brouwer, Tetsy Mulder, and John Buit.

Canola Crop—Support an Acre or Two
Land to grow this year’s canola crop is arranged, and all the parts of this fundraising project are being arranged. We need your help! If you can help with any of the farming operations or are willing to supply some of the inputs contact Peter. There are many costs with growing a crop, and we are looking to the congregation to help with this. For $200 an acre donation you can see your money grow. If you would like to be a part of the fundraiser, please place your donation in the building fund mail box (located on North wall in Church office) or Peter Den Oudsten’s mail box, with your cheques made out to Woody Nook CRC, designated to the crop project. We have seen the last 7 years what a blessing the canola crop has been to the building fund. Questions contact Peter DenOudsten.
Stephen Ministry
Gifted to Care: Spiritual gifts are gifts to give away. God gives them to us, and we use them to serve others. How are you using your gifts right now? Are you looking for a new way to use them? If your spiritual gifts include one or more of the following—faith, mercy, teaching the faith, encouragement, or knowing—consider Stephen Ministry. This may be just what you have been looking for! We are hoping to start a group in the fall, so if you are thinking this may be for you, contact Grace Reitema at 403-748-2237 or Grace Stolte at403-885-4235 to learn more about this ministry.

THE DEACONS CORNER Our Second Offering is for GEMS Head Office:
GEMS Girls’ Clubs is all about—well—girls! Girls are active,
imaginative, and unique. They are passionate! And GEMS offers
them the perfect place to learn and grow as they discover who God
created them to be. Clubs are offered in local churches and Christian
organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and our mission is to
bring girls everywhere into a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus
Christ. To do that, we inspire and train teams of women to mentor
the next generation. GEMS was founded on the principles defined in
Titus 2, and we want to grow women closer to God and closer to
each other as we equip them to show girls how to live God-honoring
lives. https://gemsgc.org/whatisgems/
