Flipping for Celebrations!
Read, Right, and Run was last Saturday. We are so proud of all of the kids that participated and equally as proud of the students that come to running club each week.
Because of our Pawsitively Giving campaign, we are getting a complete new sound system for the gym! We are so excited for this as it will improve the quality of our daily P.E. instruction, assemblies, and performances. Thank you to all who are so generous!
Our Used Book Fair was a success! Thank you to Jinea Meyer, Hope Curtis, Amanda Gibson, Katy Wolff, and everyone who volunteered time or donated books. You are appreciated!
Project Parkway is Monday night and the topic is Personalized Learning. Three of our River Bend teachers are presenters that evening, along with a few students! Please consider coming and listening to all of amazing topics that will be offered.

PTO Officers/Election: At our recent PTO meeting, our officers shared that they will not be able to commit to their positions next year. Many of them have held their position for many years. They aren't leaving us completely, but need to take a step back for other commitments or begin fading out because their children will soon be leaving River Bend. We are looking for new parents/family members to lead our PTO. We are also looking to restructure a little to build more capacity throughout our parent community. Having individuals or teams choose ONE event or activity for the year will prevent any one person having too much on their plate. We would love to hear from you! Help Wanted!: Do you love cafeteria food? What about a little noise? Are you knowledgeable about the differences between trash, recycle, and compost? If so, then please consider helping us out with lunch and recess supervision during the MAP testing window (April 22- May 3). Many of our lunch/recess monitors are busy with proctoring and testing small groups. We need help! Please let us know if you would like to supervise a lunch shift. Here are some options:

Leader in Me Lighthouse Status: We are excited to announce that we have applied for LIghthouse status through the Leader in Me program. This is a national recognition for implementing the 7 Habits, believing that all students can be leaders, goal setting, academics, service learning, and so much more. There is a review team coming to visit our school on May 14th. Part of the visit is having a Parent Panel of 4-5 parents that represent the various grade levels of the school. You would have an opportunity to share your perspective on how our leadership initiative has impacted your child, family, school, or community. Please let me know if you would interested in being part of this panel.
Class Placement Parent Input: Creating balanced classrooms that meet the needs of each individual student is extremely important. If you would like to provide us with information to assist us in this, please complete this Google form. If you have more than one child, please fill out a form for each.
Cardinals Game Tickets: Save the Date for our River Bend Cardinals Game! Seats are located in the 200 Level in Big Mac Land, and are ONLY $15/ticket! We’re already 1/3 sold out! Join us on Wednesday, June 19th as the Cardinals face the Marlins for a 7:15pm game as our 2018-2019 4th and 5th graders sing “Take Me out to the Ballgame”. Tickets are ON SALE NOW!
MAP Testing: April 22-May 3, our River Bend 3rd-5th graders will take the MAP statewide assessment. Please click here to read a parent letter with more information.
River Bend's 50th Birthday: On Friday, May 3rd, we are celebrating the 50th birthday of River Bend starting at 4:30 PM! Click here for an invitation to our 50th Birthday Party. We hope to see you there!
