Paradox of Affluence, involving the individual, family & community life:
Summer Sizzlin’ Car, Truck & Motorcycle ShowWith the current state of the economy people are still spending
money on their classic & high maintenance vehicles? Why???How can a car show be see as an economical alternative for
fellowship?Because of the economy many cannot afford to take lavish
vacations or travel for just the fun of it; a local car show cannot only provide a means of fundraising but, it also allows the individual, families and the community to come together for a common interest and entertainment.
What is Honor’s in ActionThe use of two or more hallmarks,
(plus Fellowship) in project planning and implementation. Scholarship begins with the Honors Study Topic.
How can scholarship and leadership
be combined in a single project?
Scholarship and service?
How to Use Hallmarks Scholarship
Any project where your chapter, school, community or region learns.
Service Any project that provides a service
to someone or something in need.
Leadership Any project highlighting
leadership by others or providing leadership as a chapter. Leadership development allows for important individual growth.

Goal Setting Questions your chapter can discuss
when planning your year:
What is a need in our community?
What resources are available to us?
What is our budget?
What are our interests?
How does this focus on the Honors Study Topic?
How can we focus on sustainability?
Where to start? With SMART goal setting!

Example Planning-What Can You Do?Your community has a food pantry that
services a lot of families in your area.Your community has recently been affected
by a severe ice storm or tornado.Your community has a park that may be run
down or riddled with litter and graffiti.Your chapter has decided to plant trees to
replenish an area devastated by a storm.Your chapter may help an elderly person with
household duties they may not be able to do any more.
