PENBURY GROVE
“This remarkable position deserves a remarkable house. It is astonishing to find such a secludedand significant Estate so close to London. We have been able to design a new house that makesbest use of the landscape, creates up-to-date living accommodation while remaining within the
tradition of the English country house. We hope it will set a new standard for the modern classical house and give its first residents a fine home.”

A once in a lifetime opportunity exists to build a great English country house and estate on thisunique site in Penn, near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
Since 1902 there has always been a grand house atPenbury Grove and since then the Estate has been developed and embellished over the years by a seriesof indulgent owners. The existing house was originallybuilt by the American engineer Horace Field Parshallto be a replica of Pennsbury Manor, William Penn’shouse in Pennsylvania. William Penn was the founderof the Province of Pennsylvania and from whom Horacebelieved he was descended.
Today, the new owner will be able to enjoy the vision ofa rare and exclusive country estate that these individualshad planned so many years ago. The Estate has been
appropriately named. Planted when the original estatewas laid out, mature trees now grace the grounds andform an established arboretum with many specimensincluding Chestnut, Oak, Cedar of Lebanon, Scots Pine,Broad Leaf Lime, Western Cedar and Beech. To thenortheast of the estate lies a stand of Beech that is designated Ancient Woodland.
Hidden behind large, established evergreen hedges andrecently planted mature specimens, the estate enjoys awonderful private parkland setting. Exceptional views tounspoilt countryside designated an Area of OutstandingNatural Beauty, mean it is unlikely ever to change.
The grounds feature a recently discovered and restoredsunken Victorian alpine garden made with over 300stone boulders, some weighing over 13 tonnes. Steampowered traction engines would have carried the stoneboulders from the railway station at Beaconsfield ontheir long journey from Derbyshire; smaller stoneswere pulled by shire horses to create this beautifulgarden feature.
Now with planning permission for a replacementcountry house, this is an extraordinary opportunityto create a magnificent country estate.
A beautiful parkland setting with its own mature arboretum and Victorian sunken garden
