The Faculty offers the Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences & Drug Manufacturing based on the credit-hour
system through academic years that are composed of 2 semesters (Fall & Spring) and a summer session.
One credit hour is equal to 1 hour lecture or 2 hours lab per week for 15 weeks - each credit hour is allotted 100 marks.
The flexibility of the credit hour system allows students to increase or decrease their work load (from 12 to 20 hours).

o Attendance and participation in all classes and lab sessions are essential to the process of education at PUA.
o Following 10% absence, students are sent official letters to their home addresses warning them from their possible
denial from completing the course if they exceed the absence limit.
o Absence (excused or unexcused) should not exceed 25% of classes or labs.
o Students exceeding 25% absence in a given course are denied from completing the course and receive a (DN)
grade (0.00%) on their official transcripts.

o At the end of the first academic year, if the student’s CGPA is less than 2, the student should not register in
more than 12 credit hours in the following semester.
o In addition, this student is kept on probation for one year in which his CGPA should raise to 2 or more, otherwise
the student path can be changed.
