Sunlight

Plants make their own food in a process

called photosynthesis.

Leaves take in sunlight and carbon dioxide

from the air. They mix this with water from the roots using chlorophyll.

This makes glucose (which is a sugary plant

food) and oxygen.

Why does photosynthesis stop at night?
