What is the Student Ambassador Scheme?
The Academic Registry has been running the PolyU Student Ambassador Scheme for 19 years. Vibrant PolyU full-time degree and sub-degree students are appointed as Student Ambassadors to promote our University to secondary students and the general public through various outreaching activities.
Who are eligible to apply for the Student Ambassador Scheme?
Full-time PolyU students who can speak fluent Cantonese, English and Putonghua
Non-final year students (as of March 2020) who are
Enthusiastic about serving PolyU Creative, cheerful and confident Eager to gain new experience and to make new friends Sincere to share and patient to listen
Students who are currently on overseas exchange programmes are also welcome to apply.
Separate interviews will be arranged.
What are your missions after being appointed as a Student
Ambassador?
Participating actively and passionately in outreaching activities including
Admission Talks for JUPAS and Non-JUPAS Applicants – All year round PolyU Consultation Day for JUPAS Applicants – 16 May 2020 (17 May 2020 as contingency) PolyU Education Info Day – 10 October 2020 (11 October 2020 as contingency) University Congregation – 24/25 October 2020 (Tentative) Other programme promotion activities – All year round
Sharing your campus life and study experience in a positive and proactive manner with secondarystudents and the general public
Projecting a positive image of PolyU students i.e. cheerful, sincere, confident, tactful and dynamic
How can you benefit from the Scheme?
Trainings / briefing sessions will be provided for appointed Student Ambassadors. Through participation in various outreaching activities, Student Ambassadors can strengthen their sense of belonging towards the University as well as enhance their communication, leadership presentation, and social skills.
Each Student Ambassador will receive a uniform and name cards. Upon satisfactory completion of the term of office, Student Ambassador will be awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and the service will be recorded in the Co-curricular Achievement Transcript (CAT).
Term of Office
One Year
Those with satisfactory performance may be re-appointed after the term of office.
