• “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

• An Old Man sitting in a rocking chair
• On the front porch with an open Bible
• In his hands reading God’s Word!!
• An Old Woman sitting at the kitchen
• Table, after the dishes are done, with
• Her Bible open reading God’s Word!
• Picture in your mind a teenager, lying• On her bed at night with the lamp• On and reading her bible before she• Goes to sleep.
• A young man taking time out of his exercises and opens his bible and reads and study it!
Why do people read,study and meditate on God’s Word!• In the hospital---
• In the Nursing, Rehab—
• In the doctor’s waiting room—
• In the funeral home
What was hidden?• THY WORD!THY WORD! God’s word..why not the word of
someone else???• Why God’s words:• 1.Because it is perfect. Jas. 1:25 but whoso• 2.Because we are to live by it. Mtt. 4:4• 3.Because it giveth light. Psalm 119:104-105• 4.Because it is powerful. Heb.4:12;Rom. 1:16• 5.Because it is truth. John 8:32; John 17:17
Who did the hiding?• “Thy word have I hid in mine heart…
• Before God’s Word can be found in in our hearts, we must put it there. It is a personal, individual responsibility.

Where was it hidden?• In mine heart!. A special place for that
which is precious.
• 1.When it is in the heart, man will obey God. Rom. 6:16-18
• 2.We are told to let the word of Christ dwell in us. Col. 3:16.
• 3.A man is as he thinks in his heart. Prov.23:7
Why have it in your heart?
• That I might not sin against God!.
• 1. Sin causes death. Rom. 6:23; Ez.18:4,20 We don’t want to die,separated from God!
• 2.Jesus used the word of God when he was tempted of the devil. Matt. 4:1-11;
• Prov. 24:9.
Used by Joseph to keep him from sinning!
• Gen. 39:7-And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
• 8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;
• 9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
• 10 And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
• 11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.
• 12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
