As we head into summer, the Library is gearing up for our Reading Programs. What
a great deal! Kids count the hours they read to earn books and movie tickets. Adults read 3
books to enter the drawing for awesome prizes. The Pulteney Fire Department is again
giving us 8 Breakfasts to give away. For just checking out a book, adults can enter the
weekly drawing to win a Breakfast.
The Foundation for Southern Tier Libraries has awarded us a grant to replace our ag-
ing color copier/printer. We have also received a grant from The ARTS of the Southern
Finger Lakes for artists’ workshops. Check out the calendar in this newsletter for upcom-
ing programs.
Last newsletter I mentioned Freegal, the free music download program. Coming
July 1 you will be able to read magazines on line from the Southern Tier Library System
web site. Using your Library card you can access and read magazines from any device
with Internet access. A large selection of magazines are available including Martha Stew-
art Living, Field & Stream, and Popular Photography. Stop in at the Library to learn how
to access Zinio.
We have a busy summer planned. Drop in, say Hi, and check out some of our new
books or even a fishing pole.

Greetings from the PFL Board of Trustees!
We have some exciting news to share with you: the Town’s gift of land for the site of the new Library
building is nearly accomplished. Very soon we will be signing all the proper papers for the transfer. Our
Board, and the Building Committee, are already hard at work on plans, and of course FUND-RAISING
ideas!
Have you noticed the articles in local papers about programs at some of our five-county system Libraries?
The variety of offerings is amazing. At OUR Library, there are summer events for elders, middles, and
kids. (Sometimes all at the same time.) Consider this newsletter your personal invitation to join in every
activity. Oh yes, the books, and DVDs, and computers, and kits and fishing poles are waiting for you…
sign up for “Summer Reading” while you’re picking up your –well - summer reading!
We’ll be seeking signatures on a 414 petition again this Fall, like we did a couple of years ago. That will
allow us to be on the November ballot, asking the voters of Pulteney for permission to receive some fund-
ing for operating costs, such as salaries, supplies, equipment, heat and light..the essentials to keep our Li-
brary going forward.
Thank you very much for your support and encouragement during the launching of our community’s Li-
brary Project!!! Alise Irwin, Pres., PFL Board
