IntegratedMath1(10) IntegratedMathIisamathematicscourseforhighschoolstudentswhohavesuccessfullycompletedeithergeneralmathematicsforgrade8orpre-algebra.Thiscourseisthefirstinafour-part,integratedhighschoolmathematicscurriculum.Thematerialsinthiscourseintegratethetopicsofalgebra,geometry,probability,andstatistics.Throughoutthecourse,studentswillpracticealgebraicthinkingandusealgebratomodelandsolverealworldproblems.Studentsareexposedtoseveralbranchesofmathematicsandwillexplorewaysinwhicheachonecanbeusedasamathematicalmodelinunderstandingtheworld.Thecourseseekstohelpstudents

AmericanLiterature(5) AmericanLiteratureisafive-unitelectivethatengageshighschoolstudentsinaliteraryconversationwithsomeofthemostcolorfulandinfluentialmindsinAmericanhistory.Theirwordswillgivestudentsagreaterunderstandingofthemselves,theirculture,andtheideasofothers.ThecourseteachesstudentsthevariousmovementsinAmericanliterature,startingwiththerootsofAmericanliteratureinwritingsfromthePuritans.ThecourseconcludeswithworksbyDr.MartinLutherKing,Jr.,andotherblackwriterswhowerepartofthestruggleforracialfreedomduringthecivilrightsera.Throughthiscourse,studentswilldothefollowing:•Recognizethereligiousbeliefsofselectedfoundingfathers,asevidencedintheirwritings.•IdentifythebirthofadistinctivelyAmericanliterature.•Recognizetheimpactofslaveryonindividualsandsociety.•Understandandidentifytheinfluenceofmodernismuponreligionandthearts.•Recognizethedominantthemesandtechniquesusedinliteratureattheendofthetwentiethcentury.BritishLiterature(5) BeginningwithworksfromtheMiddleAges,BritishLiteratureisafive-unitcoursethatteacheshighschoolstudentsaboutsomeofthegreatestbooksofWesternCivilization.StudentswilllearnhowtoappreciatetheEnglishliteratureoftheMiddleAgesforitswisdomandbeautyandwillalsogainabetterunderstandingofthedevelopmentoftheEnglishlanguageanditsliterature.Courseunitscoveronetotwo
