Residents cited the following priorities.

n Maintaining the City’s financial stability; police response to 911 and violent crime; and fire and emergency medical response.

n Addressing the cost of hous-ing, traffic and congestion on local streets.

n Maintaining and repairing storm drains to keep pollution out of the Bay and prevent street flooding.

Respondents strongly support regulations on the cultivation, pro-cessing, and sale of cannabis.

Significant percentages of respondents were also supportive of potential local funding measures such as a general purpose measure to maintain quality of life services; a bond to address infrastructure repair; or a gross receipts tax on cannabis businesses.

“This community feedback is extremely helpful,” said City Manager Jill Keimach. “We all look forward to continuing to engage the public on the best way of maintain-ing our quality of life consistent with our city’s values.”

We believe the Alameda Sun provides local news and information that would not be covered by anyone or anything else. Opinions expressed by local residents on local matters would not have a voice anywhere else. What you have to say, what your neighbors want you to

hear, what your politicians are thinking, or what you think of your politicians has a place right here and right now.

Express yourself. Listen to others. Support your local newspaper.
