Virginia WestRotary Exchange Student
Virginia West is a senior at the Collegiate High School at Northwest Florida State College. She is the daughter of Rotarian Charles West and his wife, Lynn. Virginia enjoys entertaining friends and indulging her passion for read-ing and movies. Her curiosity to learn more about other cultures has led her abroad this summer to spend time in Germany as an exchange student through the Fort Walton Beach Rotar y Club. It has been the opportunity of a lifetime and she is deeply grateful for the preparations her host family, the Bannmullers, have arranged to ensure that ever y day was a wonder ful new adventure. What a tremendous accomplishment for a family with five children!! In addition to taking her to see famous German landmarks, the Bannmullers have taken her to see France, Austria and Switzerland. Virginia is so blessed to have made a good friend with their daughter, Riki, and looks for ward to the adventures we have planned for her visit to the US. As Krewe of Bowlegs Princess, Interact Club VP, and ser ving with her class office are just a few endeavors that keep Virginia busy. In addition, she always makes time to care for her furr y friends – whether it’s volunteering at PAWS or taking care of her own dogs, turtles and cat. Virginia will be graduating next spring with her high school diploma in addition to her AA degree. Following grad-uation, Virginia wishes to study biology at University of Florida with the hopes of becoming a veterinarian.
