Conditions
Conditions
This event will run under EA/FEI rules. The Organising Committee (OC) reserves the right to change or amend the program at their discretion. All owners and competitors will be personally responsible for damages to any third parties caused by themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. Please ensure the safety of your children whilst in proximity to horses.
Conduct of the Organising Committee Technical Delegate, Ground Jury, Officials, Equestrian Victoria, Equestrian Australia are responsible for ensuring Horse Welfare guidelines and EA Codes of Conduct are observed.
Block Entry Block entry for Junior, Young Rider, Senior Championship Classes and Amateur, Ruby & Emerald Series Classes. The block entry will include the two qualifying Classes, Final Class or alternatively the Consolation Class.
Scratching / Refunds of Entries All scratchings will be fully refunded prior to close of Entries via email only at [email protected]
All other scratchings will only be considered for refund prior to 10th Sept 2015 with a written submission to the Event Secretary. A 50% refund will be applicable.
Scratching / Refunds of Stables Stable refunds will only be given if the stable can be reallocated with the assistance of the Organising Committee. For assistance please contact Event Secretary via email.
No stable refund will occur once the event has started. For biosecurity, you must clear any stabling changes with the Event Secretary.
Starts per horse Horses may only start in a maximum of 2 Classes per day.
Horses may only nominate in one series.
EA age rules a) Junior – in the calendar year in which they turn 12,
until the calendar year in which they turn 18;
(b) Young Rider – in the calendar year in which they turn 16 until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 21.
Dress Code Riders in all competition rings must be in correct dress unless otherwise instructed by the judge. It is compulsory for athletes to wear a properly fastened helmet at all times whilst mounted. As an exception senior athletes may remove their helmet at the presentation in the competition arena only.
Presentations Presentations will be mounted, and riders must wear their correct attire. Riders who are not available for presentations or who do not fulfill any media commitments that may be required by the OC, may forfeit all prize money. Winners of classes may be required to participate in photo and media obligations.
Dogs Dogs must be kept on a leash and under effective control at all times. Dogs are not permitted in warm up or competition areas or in the indoor arenas.
Equestrian Victoria and the Organising Committee reserve the right to change or amend the program at their discretion. The Organising Committee and Equestrian Victoria has the right not to accept any nominations. Equestrian Victoria has the right to increase any prize money amounts as the Organising Committee has elected to give more prize money if we are able to obtain extra funds.
Stallions The Organising Committee follows the EA stallion code of conduct. Guardians of riders/handlers under 17 years must take responsibility for stallions at all times including when leading, riding or stabling stallions throughout the venue.
Riders and Owners All riders and owners in all classes must be current financial members of EA including riders in Ring 4. Horses must hold current EA registration except for those riding in Ring 4.
Prize MoneyPlease read this carefully to ensure prompt payment of your prizemoney.
Height class prize money will be paid in cash subject to presenting of your performance card at the Event office.
Championship block events will be direct debited to your account
It is vital that you provide correct BSB and account numbers when entering the show. If these details are supplied correctly this transfer will be done within 3 weeks from end of show.

EXTRA CHARGES Stable and Camping fees
Temporary and Permanent Stables$250 for 6 nights
Tuesday 15th Sept 2015 (From 1pm) till Monday 21st Sept 2015 (11am)
1m2 of shavings will be supplied with each stable. The shavings are provided for stables only. If you wish to purchase extra shavings or alternatively use them in your yards, these can be purchased directly from the venue WPNEC office.
Gate will be open for arrival Tues 15th from 1pm till 8pm and re-open on Wed 16th at 8am to 8pm.
Please note due to infrastructure set ups, arrivals prior to this time will not be guaranteed access to their designated stables and camping site. If you intend to arrive early, ie on the Monday a $50 surcharge (per day) will be payable upon arrival and you will be placed into a temporary campsite with access to yards only.
We will endeavour to stable horses together that are travelling together – please identify this preference on your entry.
Please note that if you book stables outside these dates (either prior or post event) you are liable for payment direct to WPNEC as it is outside the control of this committee.
Stable Cleaning Bond No bond is required this year as the venue have arranged cleaning of all boxes.
No stable inspection is required this year as the venue are arranging the cleaning of all boxes post event.
Yards$80 per yard for six nights
Tuesday 15th Sept 2015 (From 1pm) till Monday 21st Sept 2015 (11am)
Yards must be left clean and tidy with all rubbish picked up. Only permanent yards and stables are to be used – no portables are able to be erected. There is no bedding allocated for yards and should you require bedding this is to be arranged through WPNEC
Facility Fees$25.00 per horse for duration of event
This fee is to help cover the cost of the venue hire.
Medication Control (Swabbing Fee)$5.00 per horse
Camping and Parking Fee$80 for the duration of the event for powered site
$10 for the duration of the event for day parking
A restricted number of powered sites are available on a first in basis. If you are parking in a powered site but staying elsewhere, please be aware that the fee still applies.

1. Nomination Conditions for Championship ClassesHow many starts A rider may not ride more than three horses (if entries permit) in any one championship division but in the case of excessive entries, the OC reserve the right to restrict a rider to two starts.
A rider may compete in two consecutive divisions, i.e. Junior and Young Rider or Young Rider and Senior. Competitors whose age allows them to compete in two divisions may do so but only if on different horses. Senior Championship Riders: A rider is considered a Senior Rider from the commencement of the year of their 18th birthday.
a. First Final Competition Table C over a Table A course Art. 239 and 263. No jump off in case of equal time. Competitors who are eliminated or who retire in the first round final competition are permitted to continue to the second final round, but will not be eligible for points on the leaderboard. A random draw will be conducted for first final competition.
Scores will be determined by NJC scoring system with faults being carried forward to second final competition, as outlined in the current Equestrian Australia Jumping Rulebook.
b. Second Final Competition Table A Art. 238 2.2. This is a competition against the clock, but in the event of equality of penalties for first place, there will be one jump off against the clock. Other athletes are placed according to their penalties and time in the first round.
Draw for the Second Final competition will have athletes in the reverse order of points from the first final competition. Any faults will be accumulated with the score from the first final.
a. Third Final competition Table A Art. 273.3.3.2. 4.3 This competition comprises, with the same speed, two courses identical or different either track, or in number of obstacles, or in the dimensions of the obstacles. The first round is not against the clock, the second round will be against the clock. For the final competition of the Australian Championships-Grand Prix, athletes will start in the reverse order of the points obtained from the first two competitions.
Eligibility for the first round of the Third Final competition Only the top 30 Juniors, top 25 Young Riders and top 20 Seniors qualified after the previous two competitions will be allowed to start in the third final competition.
Transformation of points to penalties After the first final competition, scores are transformed into penalties. Penalties incurred in the first round of the second Final are added with the top 20 riders qualifying for the final.
Determination of the Australian Champion The overall winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties after the Three Final competitions.
If competitors are tied for first place after the three final competitions, there will be a jump-off against the clock over a reduced course of at least six obstacles. In case of equality of penalties and time in this jump-off a second jump-off, against the clock, will be held over the same course. Competitors not in the jump-off but tying on penalties are placed equal.
Horse Inspection/Trot up Will be held on Wednesday afternoon for all Young Rider and Senior Championship horses. Smart casual dress of the handler is required. Young Rider horses will be trotted up 1 to 2.30pm and Senior horses 2.30 to 4pm.
Senior Championship horses will be required to be on the grounds at Werribee Park by 1pm Wednesday 16th September 2015. Stables will be available from Tuesday 15th September at 1pm. Senior horses may not leave the grounds during the duration of the event. Any horse in breach of this condition will be eliminated.
The winner of the Senior Championship will be the face of the 2015 ASJC event so if the winning rider does not want this, they must notify the organising committee at the conclusion of the event.
Feed will be available from Total Animal Supplies at the venue. We thank Total Animal Supplies for their sponsorship and support of this event. Orders will be taken each morning and supplied the next day. Order Form will be located on the website closer to the event date.

Ruby Series is for horses with 40 points and under from 31st August 2015. Horses points will be checked with the national data base and incorrectly entered horses will be removed from the class without refund.
Ruby Series will start at 1.25m for the first round and will progress upwards over the following days.
Emerald and Ruby Series entrants may only nominate for one series but may compete in any other classes that they meet the criteria for.
Horses must meet points criteria at time of closing. Horses that exceed the stipulated points during the series will be eligible for series qualifiers and finals.
Points will be allocated for the Ruby qualifier 1 and 2. Leaderboard of qualifier 1 and 2 will determine the top 50% of entrants that will be eligible for the final. Placings in the final will determine the overall Ruby Series. The remaining 50% of the field are eligible to participate in the Ruby Consolation Class.
Will start at 1.10m for the first round and will progress upwards over the following days.
Emerald Series is for horses with 16 points and under from 31st August 2015. Horses points will be checked with the national database and incorrectly entered horses will be removed from the class without refund.
Emerald Series may only nominate in one series but may compete in any other classes that they meet the criteria for.
Horses must meet points criteria at time of closing. Horses that exceed the stipulated points during the series will be eligible for series qualifiers and finals.
Points will be allocated for the Emerald Qualifier 1 and 2. Leaderboard of qualifier 1 & 2 will determine the top 50% of entrants that will be eligible for the final. Placings in the final will determine the overall Emerald Series. The remaining 50% of the field are eligible to participate in the Emerald Consolation Class.
Team nominations including full names of riders, horses, order of go together with Team Managers details, from each state to be nominated by 2nd September 2015. This is to allow publication of the teams in the program.
The cost is $100 per team. Entry forms will be sent to state offices. Riders may only compete in one team for each age division.
The starting order of the Teams is determined by a draw in the presence of the judge and the Team managers at a time yet to be fixed.
A team constitutes three or four riders. A maximum of one team member may be from another state or nation only if the state has insufficient rider numbers available. The 3rd team position can be filled by a substitute rider.
The team’s competition will be conducted in conjunction with the first and second qualifying competition for the National Title Championship.
At the conclusion of the second round, the best three scores from each round are added together to determine the team score. In the event of tie for first or any subsequent places,
the time taken in the second round for the three scores used will be added together and the team with the fastest time will be placed in front of Teams with equal penalties. There will be no jump-off against the clock.
Eliminated horses may compete in the second round.
If two or more athletes of a team, participating with four athletes in the first or second round, are eliminated or retire, the whole team is eliminated.
If one athlete of a team, participating with three athletes in the first or second round, is eliminated or retires, the whole team is eliminated.
Team riders who have not qualified for the second round of the second competition of the Australian Championships will jump in the second round before all those athletes who have qualified for the second round of the competition.
If the fourth rider of a team cannot better their team’s score they do not have to start in the second round.

Amateur riders must be a current EA member, riders may compete as amateurs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 21 years of age.
The course shall be free-flowing and relatively simple. The first fence in the first round shall be 110cm and the remainder of the course 110cm - 120cm maximum height. There will be a maximum height rise of 10cm for the jump off.
Amateur rider classes are for riders who: • Have not competed in an Olympic Games or World
Equestrian Games in either Jumping or Eventing
• In the past 10 years must not have competed in a World Cup for Jumping Riders qualifying round
• Have not have competed in section 1 and 2 at a Royal Show in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth in the past two years
• Must never have competed in a 4* 3 Day Event
• Amateur riders may not compete in an Amateur Class if they compete in a class higher than 1.20m at that show
• Amateur riders may not compete in an Amateur Class on a horse that will compete in any class higher than 1.20m at that show.
Amateur series entrants may only nominate for one series but may compete in any other classes they meet the criteria for.

5. Stars of the Future (Class 25) & Mini Prix Title (Class 26) nomination conditions
• Stars of the Future is for Horses with 50 points and under as of 31st August 2015.
• Horses nominated in any Australian Showjumping Championship (Junior, Young Rider and Senior) are not eligible to enter Stars of the Future (Class 25) or Mini Prix Title (Class 26).
• Horses may enter both Class 25 and Class 26 if they are eligible.
Welfare of the Horse and Code of Conduct
• In all equestrian sports the horse must be considered paramount.
• The well being of the horse shall be taken above the demands of the breeders, trainers, riders, owners, dealers, organisers, sponsors or officials.
• All handling and veterinary treatment must ensure the health and welfare of the horse.
• The highest standards of nutrition, health, sanitation and safety shall be encouraged and maintained at all times.
• Adequate provision must be made for ventilation, feeding, watering and maintaining a healthy environment during transportation.
• Emphasis should be placed on increasing education in training and equestrian practices and on promoting scientific studies in equine health.
• In the interests of the horse, the fitness and competence of the rider shall be regarded as essential.
• All riding and training methods must take account of the horse as a living entity and must not include any technique considered by the FEI/EA to be abusive.
• National Federations should establish adequate controls in order that all persons and bodies under their jurisdiction respect the welfare of the horse.
• The national and international Rules and Regulations in equestrian sport regarding the health and welfare of the horse must be adhered to not only during the national and international events, but also in the training.
• Competition Rules and Regulations shall be continually reviewed to ensure such welfare.

Equestrian Victoria or its servants, volunteers or agents shall not be in anyway liable for any accident, injury, illness, damage, loss or any matter that may happen for causes or circumstances whatsoever to exhibitors, competitors, members, agents or to anyone on the grounds or to any animal or article exhibited or to any property on the grounds or for any loss, claim matter, or any journey to or from the event circumstances or event whatsoever in connection with or arising out of or understood to be the Australian Show Jumping Championships 2015 Event conducted by Equestrian Victoria and the Organizing Committee.
It is to be understood that in no circumstances shall Equestrian Victoria, its servants, volunteers or agents be liable for any loss, damages, claims or cost occasioned or suffered by any exhibitor or member directly, howsoever arising, including without limitation, loss, damages, claims or costs as a result of any negligence, and by your entry in any Class of the Event, and upon the grounds of the venue, you agree to indemnify and save harmless to Equestrian Victoria, its servants, volunteers or agents from and against any liability out of any such loss, damage, claims or cost. This disclaimer does not limit any liability arising under the Trade Practices Act 1974[cth], other than section 74 of the act to the extent that it imposes liability for death or personal injury
