IntroductionBody Area Networks (BANs)
• Wearable devices.
• Body sensor Units for numerous applications.
• Applications are healthcare domain like continuous
monitoring and logging via parameters of patients.
• Intensive research but less deployment.
Introduction..mHealth
• mHealth is a mobile healthcare system that uses the Information and Communications Technology to automate & ensure the healthcare services to patient(s) at anytime anywhere.
• Major components:
• Body sensors or devices that monitor patients’ vital signs.
• Communications system and protocols e.g. IEEE 11073.
• Healthcare service providers e.g. hospitals and healthcare centers, mHealth companies, etc.

Implementation• Our application consists of three modules:
1. Data Exchange Modules:a. Required structure of data at both sides i.e. Agent & Manager.
2. Display Module: TBD in Next Slide
3. Alert Module: a. Threshold values to be set depending on age, disease etc. in manager sid
e to alert the staff or doctor.

Future Work• Exchange of more data types like temperatures, iris
recognition, finger print and if possible DNA encrypt
ed data.
• Design of one-many communications for multiple
managers and agents.
• Experiments for WiFi and LTE needs to be explored.o However, devices need to be equipped with supporting specs.
