This months dish is submitted byDoug and Cheri Dunlap, Lake Bridgeport
Doug and Cheri Dunlap of Lake Bridgeport describe Kings-ton Chicken as comfort food. The recipe was given to Cheri30 years ago by a friend and is a staple at family gatherings
and picnics. The chicken is easy to prepare and easy to cook the hardest part is waiting for the chicken to marinate.Cheri uses stone ground corn meal and whole wheat flour toincorporate healthy ingredients into the recipe.
Marinating time: Eight hours or overnight
Cooking temperature: 450 degrees
Cooking time: 40 to 45 minutes
The Dunlaps recommendmarinating in gallon-size Ziploc
bags and turning several times. While it may not seem like enoughmarinade, Cheri says the amountis just perfect.
Toss marinated wings in coatingmixture then place on greased
baking sheets. Bake chicken for 40to 45 minutes at 450 degrees andturn once at halfway.
