Behind the Notions 13
Inside this issue:
Hello Sewists,
It is already time to plan for the holidays and the New Year. Be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming fall workshops –
9/13 and 10/18. Both have projects that will be great for holiday gifts. Classes are filling up so sign up today. Community Service sewing help needed: We have been asked
by Veterans First (the group that sponsors women vet-
erans) to sew 500 drawstring bags that are a minimum size of 10 x
12 by November. We will be doing community sewing at each of
the workshops and the Paradise Valley Neighborhood Group on
9/16 and 10/21 6 p.m. –9 p.m. There will be other dates to be an-
nounced later. The supplies for the bags will be supplied.
American Girl Doll Raffle: We are having a raffle
for 2 American Girl Dolls with wardrobes in February of 2015. We
are asking members to make and donate clothing for the ward-
robes. Names of donors will earn 5 chances per donation for a
paid ASG membership. We will begin selling raffle tickets for the
dolls by the end of September. We ask that you help sell these tick-
ets to make this an especially successful fund raiser. Continue page 2
