Fall 2013 Cohort - SHSU Elite vs SHSU Elite Control (Updated for Spring 2014 Semester)

NOTE: The SHSU Elite Control was selected by completing a random sample from all the Male African American or Hispanic Student who were within the same SAT Score range as the SHSU Elite SAT Scores. This SHSU Elite Control group is carried over from the Fall 2013 Cohort.

The SHSU Elite Students have statistically significant higher Hours Attempted for all ethnicities, Hours Completed for all ethnicities, GPA for all ethnicities, Completion Rate for African American students and all ethnicities than the SHSU Elite Control students. The SHSU Elite Students also have statistically significant lower Hours Difference for African American and all ethnicities students than the SHSU Elite Control students. This means that the SHSU Elite Students completed more of the hours that they attempted than the SHSU Elite Control Students.

*Difference is computed for each student by the following formula: Difference = Hours Attempted - Hours Completed.**Completion Rate is computed for each student by the following formula: Completion Rate = Hours Completed/Hours Attempted.
